My Marshall MG 30FX is very good. sounds great and is very good quality!!! this is the perfect amp if you want to get a normal sized amp..... not too big and not to small!!!!!! PLEASE...

people say this is a bad amp and that's BS. my bro has this amp and it has handled a lot of abuse and sounds great, good amp good price

the thing it has no distorsion but only overdrive 1 and 2 i think realy sucks,,and all the other stuff is really cool though.

A question: What is best: Fender Frontman 25w or this Marshall? Here in Argentina, the amp Marshall have a price most high.
Report spam or abuse
I found a used MG30 amp for $69 at guitar center. I bought it cause my strat sounded pretty good in it.

Dont buy this amp, very hard to tune it right, when you have tuned it right you shouldnt have your volume or master up, this will result in annyoing beeping of the amp. Especially if u use the overdrive & crunch effect. So to conclude its perfect for in the living room, put keep the volume down
Report spam or abuse
the amp is programmable....
Report spam or abuse
@elpajaro27 the sound quality when you do that is great. its just like listening to the song out of high quality speakers and it doesnt screw up the sound of the guitar at all
Report spam or abuse
@xtremeassassin1 a friend of mine has the fender mustang 2 its a really good amp, i loved it, he has a fender telecaster and it sounds awesome... the fender doesnt have much distortion, but the clean is really good, if you're into metal, marshall, if you're intro blues and clean songs fender....

@DROWN1995 umm not sure but dont blow ur amp you might wana look at a bigger amp then.
Report spam or abuse
@NICKWAPPERER117 you can get an adapter to plug into your ipod or phone or zune or whatever, and you can plug it into the amp. and if you pick a song and press play, it will play through the amp speaker.
Report spam or abuse
@produccionesmiranejo umm well if you play drum like crazy no only if u want to blow your amp!! lol try some bigger ones like the mg 100fx??
Report spam or abuse
@Macsk8ing Acutally, according to guitar center, it has the same functions as this one, but costs 50 dollars less!

lol I thought he was saying he's gonna play NOFX :) Great band though

can somebody tell me how many watts this is? please thanks.

Would you say this is suitable for gigging in small clubs.
Report spam or abuse
no, they are not, marshall has reduces costs of production for the cfx carbon fiber series. Those new apms ha less, how to say? "Pure marshall sound" than the original FX models. I was in the same situation you are, i test both amps and i liked the FX really much.

This or Marshall MG30CFX are they the same thing??

just bought his amp , cant figure out how to use the tuner , post a vid asap!!

@fernyxferny321 DO NOT get a spider 4 30w. HORRIBLE amp. just trade that for this one. save the money. dont listen to the guy above this either

@mattpn2719 You press the Tap (manual) button and hold it for a while, until the store button turns red. Now you're in manual mode.

Hey guys, do you think this is good for playing some Guns and Roses/Slash licks, and some Randy Rhoads?

i know this amp has effects built in it so can i still get a good sound if i plug a multi effect pedal

@dmedicFF obviously it's not like a tube amp and like i said you can't play a marshall tube amp in an apartment. Yes there are affordable tube amps, but nothing compares to a (for example) jvm or mesa dual rectifier. Their sound will never be the same in a smaller version
Report spam or abuse
I used to have to use a pedal to get my favorite tone, but since i've gotten my marshall, all i have to do is plug straight to the amp(no effects). I LOVE MARSHALLS. Wont ever buy anything else!!!!!

eey man nice review ^^ i bought this amp too a couple a days ago and so far its th best amp i know ;P it really works just the way u want it to and i really like it :D

@DROWN1995 sounds like 30 watts isnt enough, or you should MIC your amp.

CFX series has carbon fiber look finish and brushed plated board. It also includes a new Octave effect and Studio Reverb.... The rest is the same.

My Marshall mg30fx was fresh from the box....btw.....OD2 perfectly nails slash's tone...

@MrBertStone setup your EQ and effects settings like you want it to be, then press the store button. also something cool i've noticed that may help... look at the amp setting you're on (clean, crunch, OD-1, OD-2), and if the light for the setting button is flashing slowly, it means your settings have been changed. if it is just solid light, it means you're on the preset.

@GuitarzMyThing Your so right I have a Marshall and my friend has a line 6 and its horrible he was so pissed because he thought he had a good amp but then when he heard mine, he felt stupid for getting a line 6. It has shitty distortion all 4 of them it doesn't have its own set distortion, and everytime you turn on clean it turns on a chorus effect and sounds like crap. You are so right, I told him I didn't even want to try it out. Lol. Marshall forever!!!

@ironhagoo use the headphones out, get a 1/8 to 1/4 cable to do it

depends what you're going for I guess. because I've got the same amp (new MG30FX) and it sounds awesome to my opinion
Report spam or abuse
@dremingguitarist95 sorry for answering someone's question for them, but.. no its not going to be enough wattage. a typical garage band is at least bass, drums, guitar and vocals depending on what genre. after you add all of those in 30 watts just isnt going to do..if ur wanting a marshall, i hear they have pretty cheap half stacks. half stacks will do. garage band =200+ watts

Dude, I actually appreciate the same chords. It gives a better representation of the differences between the sounds the amp can make. Everybody solos different songs based on the style of effect. If I'm going to purchase an amp based on a review, I want to compare the differences of how they sound. Kuddos.

Can u run 2 effects at once like chorus and delay at the same time?
Report spam or abuse
gor for marshal if you already have a pedal, their sound its unmatchable but if you dont, then go for the line 6 it has way better fx built into the amp
Report spam or abuse
Marshall is too overrated .. so im sticking with line 6.. maybe get a peavy later on :p

Try to turn the trebble a little bit lower :) helps for me

CRUSHING OVERDRIVE!!!!!!! Get a tube amp.

@elpajaro27 i dont really understand what your asking...lol. theres no reason not to use it. all you have to do is get an adapter (which you can get from alot of places, i use the one that came with my alarm clock) and hook your ipod or mp3 player into the amp

Dude what guitar are you playing?
Report spam or abuse
man... honestly I dont like it when people are doing a demo on an amp, and only doing chords...... it just doesn't let you here the actual tone of an amp over a video
Report spam or abuse
Excellent Demo, thank you. I just bought my first electric guitar.....Fender American Standard Strat and this is the amp I bought with it. Now I understand the amp much better. Thanks again! Tim
Report spam or abuse
@ichirakudreamer wait what guitar do you have? if you have a guitar with humbuckers maybe thats not the problem so take it where you bought it from and tell them to replace it
Report spam or abuse
Not really, the MG30FX looks more sturdy and reliable. The CFX looks cheaper and is actually cheaper, the Octave effect and extra Reverb don't make too much difference.
Report spam or abuse
@DepthCharg3 I have this exact amp. I like it, but it cant hold a candle to my tube amp sound. Small tube amps are pretty affordable now for home use and home/hobbyist players.

@Brentypooz WOOW nofx! Great band :) I play nofx on my own marshall mg30fx

thanks with many responses :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ... it should help :D

@ptuplea95 Thanks, I'll buy! But I want the silver one, have you seen it? If so how is the silver model of the 30FX?!
Report spam or abuse
is this amp is good ?..because i plan to buy this on christmas :D
Report spam or abuse
@sgmarshallboy If you think the 30w is horrible how about the 15w? I have it and I hate the fact that I have a distortion pedal so all of those shitty effects that come with the amp are useless.
Report spam or abuse
Hey guys I was thinking of buying this amp and is it good for Zepp,Sabbath,Who,ACDC,Doors... ?

i was saving up for a line 6 spider IV 30 watt until i saw this, what do you think is the best?, Live in australia and that amp costs 300 dollars at kosmic sound -.-
Report spam or abuse
@Katamari101 Haha it's no problem bud. I will admit, I do ditch my distortion pedal and use the distortion channel on the Line 6 for extra power when the pedal can't do that for me. But with that comes the burden of not being able to cover songs that switch from clean to distorted tones often.
Report spam or abuse
@ichirakudreamer Try backing up from the amp, and muting the strigs with your palm. If that doesn't fix it, I would recomend getting your pick-ups checked out.
Report spam or abuse
these are your guitar's pickups. i have the same problem!!! the only way is to try to modify them or change them!!!! sometimes is the cable or sometimes are just interferences...
Report spam or abuse
Seriously, you sound like a boring dullard.
Report spam or abuse
@DROWN1995 in my opinion you should get a microphone on the amp's speaker so it won't blow up.But if you want you can look at some bigger amps about 50 or 75 W . hope this helps :p
Report spam or abuse
Would this be good for heavy metal and hard rock?

I don't think this is a tube amp...that means it doesn't sound as clear as others.
Report spam or abuse
@gibsonguy97 thats a 15w amp, i already own one and i dont think that amp is for metal at all. For that prcie (which i cant afford right now because i just bought a drumset lol) i better get a line 6
Report spam or abuse
hi, I just found what's the problem: these screams are the interferences between microphones and speakers. there's nothing to do. try a noise suppressor like boss np2 but I don't know.... or try to move around your amplifier ;)
Report spam or abuse
Good revwie i'll buy it at thomann.com ;)
Report spam or abuse
no of course not its only a transistor amp so the drums will drawn it out with out question. its a great amp and i have one. but to play live you would need to link it to a pa
Report spam or abuse
I love this amp... I have one to. Hey ptuplea95 do you think a Taylor with mahogany, Kia, or Indian rosewood wood or rose wood is better?
Report spam or abuse
How the hell do you get enough money for this amp? i can afford only a 50 buck amp. I don't get much spare money
Report spam or abuse
@Shootamonkey3 ...And I just realized that you were talking about the Line 6. I thought you were talking about the Marshall. Fuck I'm stupid.
Report spam or abuse
I use this amp for the tones and mic the amp into the board. Very happy with it. BTW, I won it at a music store.

Can I use a crybaby classic wahwah with this amp? Planning on buying my first pedal and this amplifier :) Oh and how does this sound with a Fender Stratocaster '60s when playing funk?

can I use a dual footswitch rather then the MG ones?
