@gottabehavingdejavu Awful. Why mention that cheap remake on this video ?
Report spam or abuse
This is so Mod... that if you multiply the original Casino Royale by Austin Powers, that would still be only half the Mod this is.

@sclapione Umm... I was simply asking because I stumbled across this video. I don't understand how a simple question could "dumb down" this video?

This is one of the most beautiful and outstanding performances ever had been made! Bravo!!!

Bob Fosse was a genius. This dance is amazing.

i know u said this like 5 months ago but everybody knows Bob Fosse. Well most. and we dont need beyonce to remind us of him. He has done brillant work what is there to forget. B Original? oops i almost choked. A true artist reinvents their idols work. Not copy. beyonce did not reinvent anything. The only thing different is the quality of the camera, moves, &music. lol

Mm! mm mm mm. can't help but move to the beat when this is playing lol :D

The title of this movie is Sweet Charity?
Report spam or abuse
@shakiMiki I never considered Sweet Charity to have been a landmark film.. but I must say that this is certainly a stunning scene. Brilliantly choreographed, directed and shot, I believe that Sweet Charity is a fantastic, although underrated, directorial debut. I admire Fosse for his amazing work in Cabaret and All That Jazz. If he had done more films during his lifetime he would have made a much bigger impact in the film industry.

Watching this, you can see why Liza Minnelli calls Fosse's choreography "so deceptively easy".

Omg 60s dancing needs to come back that was sooo friggn kool

dance is wonderful. music is awful-was bad even for the time with what was happening in jazz and rock and even pop. never makes up its mind. has that 'tv soundtrack' sound. the lead dancer is great. others of course too.

Check out how VJTOMYAZ put this clip to the B52's Dancing Now from their last album Funplex. Its amazing and it does make the dance routine look absolutely straight from today's videos youtube.com/watch?v=w5sDXSHSh6Y

@xxsweetxsacrificexx Yes! Also Beyonce's Get Me Bodied and many others. Jody Watley, etc..... the list goes on! Fosse was the original!

Is this what Emma Bunton's "Maybe" music video is inspired from?
Report spam or abuse
@chilvari "Everything and every artist is complete garbage these days." Well that's a gross overgeneralization if I've ever heard one. EVERY single artists and EVERY SINGLE THING is complete garbage these days? Someone's bitter.
Report spam or abuse
Emma did not seem to have enough budget to hire half-decent dancers though.

This is brilliant! I saw this movie for the first time today when it came on retroplex (tcm; turner classic movies). The music and dancer numbers are genius! People don't do dance, music and fashion like they did during the classical era of Hollywood cinema and Broadway. And everyone these days almost always reference classic styles in their music or videos (Beyonce did some of these dance moves in a few of her videos; Madonna copied Marilyn Monroe; everyone else basically copies Madonna).

go to wikipedia and type in sweet charity. To much to explain with a comment so it is best to look it up. It is difficult to find this movie so your best chance is to buy it on ebay.

The dancers from the late 60's in this video dance more accurate than dancers these days. I looked at other videos and compared to this video and this by far is the best and most accurate. And most of them really can smoke and dance this well I don't get it...lol

@AmyCraXzzzY But...but....it's Fosse.... It's from the 60's and it's very mod-ish which not a lot of people today may like. Plus... IT'S FOSSE! Man was a Genius.

Who is the main female dancer?

@johandasu LOL!... Don't we all? I'd love to be able to dance Fosse style!

@xxsweetxsacrificexx Omg. Who gives a shit ? Could we leave all those acts out of this ? Please Every video is being dumbed down these days

@AmyCraXzzzY Well done, you're now greater than Bob Fosse.

has hints of that song by emma (ex spice girl)..."maybe"?

i love bob fosse! he's so awesome. you acn immediately tell a work of his. so 60's mod x)

@chilvari That's fair, definitely was an exaggeration, didn't check when your original comment was posted either. Passion is definitely not a bad thing. FWIW, I experienced almost the exact opposite when I was growing up. I felt like all of my friends went on about The Beatles or The Rolling Stones or all of these great older bands and it was always an uphill struggle for me to convince them that there was greatness in some bands producing in the current era.

@dajuanblues, it's called "Rich Man's Frug"

This is why the economy is the way it is. The rich are far too busy having rich people dance parties with their handouts and tax breaks!

@bennyraven I didn't know until this second that that was SC, I always thought the lead dancer was Ann Reinking.

Ben Vareen has some bad ass moves here. An early piece for him with Bob F. The physical isolation movement, and the most amazing part of that leading dancer is her use of her arms. So fluid!

It is odd how smoking was championed in 'those' days. I wonder how actually eventually passed away from lung cancer in later life? I have this part of the soundtrack on disk and played it at work, my younger colleague thought I was nuts.
