Indigo Girls

I found this CD 5 years ago during some of the darkest times of my life.  Truly helped me get thru.  Sometimes, things happen for reasons you just cannot explain.

The head REM guy (that bald one) found these ladies and put them on the national stage.  I have to say that I think their music has lasted better.  It's almost all about tremendous struggle.  I like that.  REM's music just sounds kinda whiny now.

What are the most hopeful, uplifting songs that you can think of? The songs that really get you out of the rut and on track to feeling better and/or being more productive. Here's one of mine. Actually this whole record could be on the list.

Just a quick and very belated 'thanks' to Maayan Schneider for recommending Laura Marling (Rambling Man) - a great new discovery for me.

Hey guys. I love this song and first heard it when I was 16 and RIGHT at the right time, magically. Also, random recommendation, another (very young, very wonderful) folk singer y'all may like is a British girl called Laura Marling, look up her song "Rambling Man" (strangely I think it's only on Vimeo?) and let me know if you like it - I LOVE her music.

This is the best sound quality video of this song on here, and I totally appreciate it. I love the dual guitars and the harmony between them, and I LOVE IT! They sing to my soul!

I fell in love with acoustic guitar years ago -- thanks to Indigo Girls. One of my first songs was inspired by trying to learn Prince of Darkness. I learned the C(9) chord, and it was so rich, I went off and wrote my own song -- Flame, which you can find on my channel. Indigo Girls - what an inspiration!

@tranurse Since I was about 12, 31 now. lol. I've taken 'the girls' through out my life. If my life had a soundtrak, they would have at least half of it.

I played some songs to my a bro in law and thought this was a sick band just cause i thought he would hate it. But he loves them so then i started listening to them i love the indigo girls.

I'm sittin' with strangers and they're playing music that I've never heard. I thank them and, today being Easter, I wish them well.

I listened to this song for weeks when I lost my momma. It helped me to find my way back to my "place in the the sun" and for that I will be forever grateful.

23 years old and my earliest memories is cleaning the house with indigo girls and melissa ehteridge playing from an old cassette player while we sang along... And every year, every single year a new relevation is brought to the surface about myself by their lyrical work and i could never imagine my life without them.

This song is amazing to three part harmonize to, esp if you use amy's latter harmony part over the beginning acoustic part...

Thank you!! Saw them in Detroit a hundred years ago. I am older, but this beautiful song is timeless, as with all of these ladies' songs!

Thank god they had the balls to come out. Better than all those stupid guys who hid and said they were bisexual. Thank you, you even gave hope to many gay men. :)

This is the Indigo Girls' best song... in my humble opinion.

I was half a naked distance between hell and heaven's ceiling.... This and other songs they've written will someday be recognized as the genius they are.
