Pokemon Black & White Soundtrack - Victory Road EXTENDED with Badge Gate lead-ins

by Shadic/Lance's Animation Studios • 35,234 views

The theme of Victory Road with the badge gate lead-ins from Pokemon Black and White EXTENDED. Music is copyright Game Freak/Nintendo.

Pkmn D/P and B/W had the best music they lost the spirit to music in them games

It's because game freak want's to be "modern", they fired some old composers and hire new composers. I miss Go ichinose, he was the reason why pokemon games sounded so great. He was not into the composer team in X & Y.

my white team: samurott, scrafty, galvantula, sawsbuck, archeops, chandelure. the most fun pokemon game they've made, in my opinion. the graphics are amazing (while sticking fairly close to the original look, unlike gen 6). And the plot and music are the best in the series. i don't think anything will top gen 5. just finished victory road last week and i had this theme stuck in my head at work two days ago.

I can't deny that this is the most epic Victory Road of all the Pokemon Generations... The slow entrance is simply awesome.

I hope that by the year 2061 this track will be played in a huge orchestra as Pokémon BW's 50th anniversary!

I would definitely watch that.

Best Victory Road theme EVER!

The build up is so suspenseful, this was the best Victory Road theme in all the generations.

great initiative man i was planning to do this :)

Always loved this theme

I ADORE the B&W victory road music! Favourite Pokemon music BY FAR!

This is a powerful piece, especially when you hear it while going through B/W's Victory Road for the first time.

2nd best victory road theme to gen 3. RSE had some of the best themes put to a Nintendo game hands down
Report spam or abuse
nah, I prefer the Gen 1 and this one. RSE has good themes, but not better than 4th, 5th, and even 6th gen.

This theme has really stuck with me through the years. Even today, as I go through the Hoenn Victory Road, I can hear this theme in the back of my head.

Oh god... I can't remember if B2 and W2 have the same victory road theme... 'cause the badge check gates are different there won't be the same build up! Ugh... this is my favourite theme in pokemon and I just hope that I'm not wasting my time playing B2 again 'cause I just wanna listen to this music!

Black & White 2 had the same Victory Road theme as Black & White, minus the lead ins.

@PersonaMC231"I wonder how Gamefreak is going to top this theme in X&Y", the music in x & y can't reach the music in black & white. The music in black & white is totally epic, route 10, the victory road, N's battle theme, celestial tower and much more.

Talk about build up! 6 minutes of it to be precise! This is my favorite victory road theme. :-)

A previous comment to which I cannot reply reads "I wonder how Game Freak is going to top this theme in X and Y". Short answer: They didn't.

+Gulls I really have to disagree with your opinion. I respect your opinion, but I really don't think that the Unova's Victory Road theme is the only one. Gen 1 and 2 don't really have a victory road theme and neither does Gen 4. Gen 6 also has a theme that just screams "It's the last stretch! The Last Road of the Journey! I can't believe it" Gen 3's is more a theme that screams "Holy ** I'm screwed. This is the end, and I'm not prepared." This theme has the sense of "I've finally made it this far, there's no turning back"

+Kelyx614 Gens 2 and 4 DID have Victory Road themes.  You just don't remember them because they were short and boring.

The entrance of the string section at 3:27 is such a powerful moment. It is the turning point of the piece.

For me it's the 5:13 part, where the chime is added!

@kadajshm "This is more like a hero walking towards his destiny." Considering what happens in the end-game on the first playthrough, I think that was very much the intention. Agreed though, both are epic in their respective ways.
Report spam or abuse
@kadajshm Considering the circumstances, this should be like a hero aproching his/her destiny. You, the trainer, walk up to the Pokemon League, where possibly the most powerful trainer awaits, a HERO awaits your arrival, so you, another hero, can battle for the ultimate title and which beliefs are truly greater. The others were goos for ominous; they were powerful, but not GODLIKE trainers, approaching destiny.

Samurott, Whimsicott, Krookodile, Chandelure, Conkeldurr, and Zebstrika. I can still imagine them by my side the first time I walked this road. I never had that epic feeling with previous gens.

Gen 1 and 2 had the most simple designs and that is a good thing. Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard areexamples of a great simple design and is still today a fan favorite.

I think this takes too long to start up.

@SteaIthIess The different parts come in as you go through each gate, it's fucking epic. The when you're in VR it's the full song.

I don't wanna sound like a genwunner but you have to remember the huge limitations of Gen 1, they couldn't go that crazy with the designs. In Gen 5 there's enough space and they settle for those uninspired things?
Report spam or abuse
I remembered the why Pokemon B/W is epic.
Report spam or abuse
By far this is the best victory toad music ever! You feel like the biggest bad ass around when you walk through this with you and the Pokemon you shared your long adventure with, at least that's how I felt anyway. :D

The collapse of the original victory road in Black and White blocked Route 10

That's because a lot of stuff from Mother 3 was used in this game. Creatures Inc. was Ape Inc, which designed Mother 3.
Report spam or abuse
I hear a timpani that sounds like the one from Mother 3.

1. Wind 2. Snare solo 3. Add Timpani 4. Add Tuba/ Winds 5. Add Strings 6. Add rest of "backbeat" 7. Add Chimes (epic) 8. Add melody 9. Rock out.

I love the music in Black and White. I decided to take a break from Pokemon, but I have come back and am loving it. The music reminds me of how Red Dead Redemption would do the same thing with it's music - it would just get more epic. This is really getting me excited for Black 2 and White 2.

Eh, the only ones I've ever had a problem with were in Gen 3. I don't know what it is about them, but if I'd had the opportunity to delete one single family from the games forever I would've chosen Meditite/Medicham. Though I have to say I do like their Mega so now all Pokémon would officially be safe from deletion by me at least.

The first sentence in your comment reminds me of climbing Mt. Silver to face Red.

This is one of my favorite themes!

I turned the sound on for the first time while playing a few months ago. While walking through the gates. I had the BIGGEST nerdgasm. This. This is how it feels every time you get to the Elite Four for the first time.

It's so cool if you get to the last Badge check, and then go into Victory Road right when the sequence rolls over to the whole BGM. I do that every time, ahaha...

I'm thinking about making this music in Little Big Planet 2. Anybody want this music when I'm done? Give me a friend request on Playstation Network. I'm BigdogD95

That moment where I was like "stupid lamp and ice cream pokemon" and now... Things have changed...

I feel so serious when I hear this theme. It's like I worked so hard to get hear and there's not turning back.

Imagine if the Trololol song just started playing somewhere in the middle of this (middle of after all the instruments are in). You gotta admit parts of this sound like it.

Or you are using nostalgia filter. or not. Thanks humanity, I can't say if a people is saying the truth thanks to your obsession with the past!

They really did polish this one musically and visually. The idea of a a progressive theme for the gates was completely genius.

sooooo shivering...the most epic badges check point (wish they could do it more often...)

when i hear this, i just think about facing my destiny at the mountain summit, like the time has finally come and theres no going back. the bells in this piece emphasize this. in each game, i just wanted to blaze thru victory road. but in this game, i wish it was a longer route.

I like how the biking or surfing music isn't used at all, so you can keep listening to this EPIC theme!

Not just the music, either. There's lots of subtle little things.

Wrong, I've liked all gens up until and including Black & White. It's just that Gen 1 and 2 are my faves.

This is the BGM that has been played during the American Revolution. Where's Connor?
Report spam or abuse
I actually happen to know that. What I did NOT know, is that they used part of the Mother 3 soundfonts for this game. That is wonderful; I wish more games would do things like that.
Report spam or abuse
actually, i think at gen 5, it was hardest to make designs for pokes. i dont remember how much pokemon there were before gen 5, but it was around 500. You try creating 649 ORIGINAL ideas XD

"This is more like a hero walking towards his destiny." Considering the storyline of the game, I think that was the idea.
Report spam or abuse
idk why but everytime i hear this music, i feel like it belongs in a final fantasy game.. it seriously sounds like something from an ff game!

One of my favourite moments ever in a pokemon game. The way the theme builds up just makes you feel like a Champion in the making.
Report spam or abuse
Definitely my favorite Victory Road!
Report spam or abuse
i can't lie, that has to be one of the best music to the League I have ever heard.
Report spam or abuse
It sounds better when you're actually playing the game.
Report spam or abuse
Far more frantic than the other victory road themes. Probably because of the story.
Report spam or abuse
most epic track in the gane other than kyurems theme.

One of the most badass theme tunes that I ever remember, along with especially gen 1 and 2.. and the gate thing was slightly epic.

When I first entered the Badge Check Gates, I was kinda dissapointed. No music. Nut I stepped forward and heard that snare drum. And as I went through it, the end was so satisfying I just sat there in awe.

But how do you explain the disappearance of Route 10?

someone for the love of god make this into an orchestral version

Does this remind anyone of Judgement Day from FF7? Both played in the "final dungeons", on the way to last part of the same ...

I don't think they died. There's probably enough advanced technology by the time these games take place that they can be warned of an impending natural disaster on their C-Gears.
