Gordon underwent a hell ride. Am overjoyed to know he had the willpower to make it through. Canadian by birth, but his song's carry a universal theme. Gordon and James Taylor are my 2 favorite singer/songwriter's. Both survived against all odd's and have lived to create some of the most beautiful, soul searching music I've ever heard. I pray that Gordon lives well into the future and not just exist. He's taught me more than anyone will ever know about life. God Bless you Mr. Lightfoot

I love this version. A bit more upbeat than the one I usually hear. Great song!!!!

I like your choice of Gordie's stamp for your cover. I saw him perform this song at St. Lawrence College, Quebec City 1968 or so. I was already a fan, it was wonderful. This song and album is one of my top ten to be stranded on a desert island with. About to listen to Song for a Winter's Night. Sigh.

when you hear his music you stop and really listen, its not something just playing in the background.

He used to have such a beautiful and unique voice. Still listen to him a few times a week. Seen him in concert not long ago and it was sort of sad to hear how the passage of time and cigarette smoking has taken it's toll on him. Always puts me in a great frame of mind whenever I hear him.

WOW, this is the first time I've ever heard this recording of Gordon performing this studio version. I've always (42+years now) heard only the live in concert recording from Sunday Afternoon Concert. Thank you, TransatlanticMoments, for uploading this. It's like finding a long lost treasure you never knew was there.
