@SilverGunZoO What, you don't like the thought of your monitor with greasy fingerprints and smears across it? heh.

I can do everything on my computer using just a keyboard, and sometimes a mouse, I open shit with hotkeys, I control the volume withhotkeys, play music, find shit on the net, I don't need a touch, touch is for dumb people

I find it interesting that I can't watch this video in the Metro IE10 browser because it requires flash....

I'm curious to see how does this interface works with no touch screen ( on regular PC's). I suppose it will come with a touch screen as a minimum config ?

Nice... I love media center's display scheme but the lack of search options, customization, and file support drove me crazy. This looks pretty amazing but I hope they take time to weed out the nuisances and develop the user experience and personalization - that's what makes all the difference and endears a piece of software to its users. It's the thought that counts, MS, little annoyances that can't be remedied really piss off customers.

@Mastermind12358 It's aimed at that market, but is also slated for PCs. The ribbon can be navigated by mouse as well, but to me it just comes across as being incredibly cumbersome. I figure like Windows ME, and Vista this one may flop.

Windows 8 Is like Media Center, more better with Internet access :(

It's a miracle! I always wanted Windows to demote my powerful machine by giving it the interface of a 3"x4" device.

@EnsignN7 How would I change it so when it boots up it will have the usual 7 desktop? And how do I start up legacy desktop and will it be able to do everything, will it slow it down or hinder performance?

It works perfectly fine with KeyBoards and mice :) But i suppose they have to think about multitouch on apps :) I think theyl sort it :D

Question: Why do I want fingerprints on my monitor?

Please noobs, obviously you can still use the mouse & keyboard. The touch is just an extra option.

@optimusmikey Yes. The "legacy desktop" will be an "app" in Windows 8 and will be set up so that you can either (A) - Never launch it at all and just use Metro UI (B) - Launch it when needed when you open "legacy apps" or (C) - Have Windows 8 launch it immediately when you boot-up/log in to your computer (bypassing Metro UI completely). It is most likely to change later on so that non-tablet PCs can choose to not have Metro UI at all and just the old desktop.

@ccaian1 lol, that's exactly it! I'll just wait patiently for 9, before upgrading.

Great if you're into tablets. Not so much if you're an average user >.>

@optimusmikey This is currently unknown as there is no public beta released to test it (and Microsoft isn't releasing details). The latest leaked pre-release version of Windows 8 has the Metro UI completely locked and only the legacy desktop is available. Currently the the latest leaked version is reported to operate about the same as Windows 7. It is the full blown desktop you know and love (same as Windows 7 with new/improved features).

You are wrong I have a Compaq Presario C506CA and its windows 8

@Swidhelm Right on. Windows has a pattern, one win followed by a fail. After windows 8 will be released an OS as awesome as XP and Windows 7
