Please rewatch the video. You prepare your yeast first thing. Thank you for writing.

Start with 8 cups and keep working it in. I hope this helps some. Its just a feel thing. Thanks

This bread is soooo good! Can't link a vid on my phone. My loaf was monster size!! I think I will divide the dough into 6 rather than 4 for the next loaf. Yummy

I love baking bread now....something I have always been afraid to do. Looks delish!

1 quart warm water, 1 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons yeast. Mix and put up until foamy. Add, 1cup oil, 1/2 cup melted butter, 3-4 eggs, 3-teaspoons salt and some flour. After you do this add flour to the consistancy to work it. You can blend whole wheat and white or all white. This is a very nice egg type bread, but we use it for everything. Bread, rolls, hotdog buns, hamburger buns, and I even make a braided bread. Just a nice bread.

Well, when I grind my own I do. The bread just is more compact than when I use all white.

Oh boy. It makes 4 large loaves, or 6 medium. The recipe actyally doesn't have measurements. I would guesstimate four pounds. About a pound a piece. Actually, I start checking it after 35 minutes and check every five-ten minutes until I hear the thump sound like a hollow melon. Hope that helps some. Thank you.

I love cooking with my sister too. You are too funny. I also beat the crap out of my bread to release frustrations. Better the bread then going to jail.

For this recipe its 3 Tablespoons and I add it at the begining with the water and sugar, Watch my other video on making bread for the recipe. I would give you the link, but You Tube doesn't let us put links into this space. Sorry. Anyway, the video shows you step by step. Thank you for watching

Hello....when do you freeze the fresh made dough? Do you let it rise once or your don't let it rise at all before you put it in the freezer? Thanks

We just love this recipe. I got the recipe from a book called, "Cane Creek Cooking". A great book really worth the few bucks I paid for it. Thank you and enjoy.

Making bread by hand saved my life. Cancer surgery stripped some muscles on one of my arms. I couldn't move my left side at all. I got a 100 pounds of flour and started making bread by hand. It took almost 100 and a half pounds before I got my left side working again. And now give me flour, yeast and whatever I can whip a great loaf in no time.

Those ladies are great. I will make those videos I promise. Today I am canning corn the traditional way although I really love dehydrated best--go figure! I will be doing this this coming week. My Weds. night canning class has asked me to do this too. Thank you!

I just loved when you captioned, "She don't play with it?"...lol Too funny. I only have one sister, her name is Donna too. I wouldn't trade her for the world. Thanks for sharing. I will be making this bread soon. I didn't know you could freeze it and it would still rise again. Thanks for the information. The freezer will be full of rolls from now on. God bless.

Don't be afraid of it. Its fun. It really is hard to screw bread up. Today we toasted it and there went two loaves. The rolls got ate fifteen minutes after I pulled them out. Barely got a chance to shoot the video. hahaha Thanks for watching

How long did you cook it at 325? Also what amount of flour would you say you used? About 4-5 cups? Had to watch it again to write the recipe down.. Love you..

Wonderful stuff. Love the video. Nothing like fresh homemade bread. Have a good day.

I'm glad you liked the video. I love dehydrating so much that I am going to do a few on that also. Right now, I have prepping classes going on in my kitchen every Weds. night to help newbies learn. Its a lot of fun. Australia is the one country I would like to visit. Thank you and please keep coming back. I am trying to come up with ideas of interest for people.

Hey Rick, Donna is actually here and I was telling her how you are like nine foot six inches tall, and she is laughing. Tell Betty, Donna is 4'8" so Donna may be shorter than her. Thanks for watching. She loved your videos of our trip.

OMG I am licking the screen. it all looks delcious and the smell of the house with home made bread baking cannot be duplicated........

I will keep visiting your channel and yes Australia is lovely I hope you do visit one day. I'd love to see more food pantry storage meals as they are amazing to watch. 255sage is amazing with what she cooks and so is bearprepper. Thanks again

I saw you showed a variation using 1/2 white flour & 1/2 fresh milled wheat. I mill my own wheat and try to never use white, store-bought flour. Have you ever tried this recipe with ONLY fresh milled wheat rather than a combination of fresh & store-bought white? If so, what alterations need to be made?

Love the video. Thanks for the laughs while teaching. I have a bread machine, but I am not all that thrilled with the results I get from it. I really want to try making my own bread and rolls, its just been too darn hot to run the oven! Hopefully soon. Thanks so much for sharing with You Tube.

Deb, I am coming to your house for dinner! LOL I also lovee homemade bread. I do have a bread machine and the only mixes I use are Krustez or Fleishmann's. I haven't made bread in a couple of weeks now. I need to make some soon. And as for butter, I have 14 pounds I need to can this weekend!!!

That bread and rolls looks great. thanks for sharing!

Katz is wonderful just like many others who do what you do. I'm from Australia and its not very common to see people preparing for situations that may arise. I've just started dehydrating various foods and herbs myself so this is all new to me. Can't wait for more videos. Thank you and those breads looked fabulous!

Good recipe if you measured all the ingredients and let us know the amounts! You know what the right amount of flour looks like but us Youtubers could use a little more help to do it right!

I have bought the bags and oxygen absorbers from the LDS cannery, emergency essentials, and dehydrate2store, as well as e-bay. Hope that helps. I like to try whatever seems reasonable. LDS Cannery is by far the cheapest.

Yeah, do it like Katzcradul shows you. I do that and use it every which way possible. I also only can it in those small jelly jars so I don't usually have any left at the end of the day to worry about. It will be one of those little important things that mean a lot when we need it most. Your always welcome to come for a meal. I cook for an Army anyway. :)

I'm so glad to hear that. It really is soooooooo good. The apple butter sounds good. You made my day. Thanks

Thank you. I put the dough in a baggie and then in the freezer at the same time I lay the other dough in the pans to rise. AFTER ITS FROZEN, AND WHEN YOU WANT TO BAKE IT, PUT IT IN A GREASED AND FLOURED PAN AND LET IT DEFROST AND RISE, AND THEN BAKE AT 325 (sorry, my caps locked.)

When I was 13 my grandmother taught me how to make bread. Even though she had an Oster (like a Kitchen Aide) w/attachments that SHE always used; she told me that I was going to learn to make bread the same she learned. All by hand. Best bread ever! I now use my bread machine my dad bought me but if there were an SHTF situation and there's no power; I can always make bread the way my dear ol grandma thought me. You brought back good memories! Your bread made me hungry!

They are eatin good. :) I say, take the yeast and put it in a bowl. Add some sugar and warm water. Stir it around and leave it alone for 10-15 minutes. If it bubbles, it will work. The bubbles show the yeast is working. I'm glad you liked the video. We had a lot of fun making it.

Geeze Barb. You just helped me figure out what I have been doing wrong all these years. I never knew to BEAT MY BREAD! I'm trying the Italian way! (Italians never play with their bread. They beat it.) HA! HA! Thanks Much. I wanted to reach through the monitor and grab a piece. DOUBLE YUM. :-)
