Scientific Tuesdays - UFO Faking 101

by HouseholdHacker • 409,715 views

With some basic electronics and some helium. We can hoax the world. Looking for a good prank oo pull on the unsuspecting masses? Build a floating LED light! For best results only use in a dark part...

Did u know breathing in helium is equivelant to smoking 50 cigarettes at a time.

did you know that's entirely untrue?

+Yoyobros Present evidence, please?

it looks like balloons you can fly in
Report spam or abuse
would be amazing if you did it near a pond or a body of water with fish in it at night and did that while pretending to fish

Don't those LEDs fall back down?

This may be true, and I know i asked about getting sued, but you can get arrested for accidental murder by fingerprint scanning.

Lets not pollute lithium batteries OR balloons. I live on the coast and balloons are a huge threat to sea life and coastal animals. Cool idea though.

But they would burn up the balloon before you had a time to launch it.
Report spam or abuse
for me when i saw it for the first time i thought it was a crack not a spider
Report spam or abuse
i mean that because of air resistance and shit the coin wouldnt be able to reach a fast enough speed to do that. also terminal velocity would stop it reaching much speed either
Report spam or abuse
try sulfur hexafluoride(SF6) and your voice will be very slow... Can you build a Tesla Coil(maybe a little one)....
Report spam or abuse
Basically Jamie made a Terminal Velocity penny shooter made out of a nail gun. They tested it on balistic gel, didn't went through. Next, the tested it out on Adam, Adam screamed and cursed in pain but isn't dead.

Report spam or abuse
so where can i find helium anyway?
Report spam or abuse
@uwdawgs98 your right but it has to be about 100+ litres of helium in the space of 5-6 months around 20+ in 1 sitting... (assuming you aren't the perfectly health man/ woman)
Report spam or abuse
3:45 I don't think the biggest think Netflix have isn't subscription service... (Look picture at the top)
Report spam or abuse
The terminal velocity of a penny cant even break the skin, things dont just keep excelerating, they stop at a point, the the upwards foce cancels out the downwards force, that battery's terminal velocity wouldnt even knock someone out
Report spam or abuse
100 LEDs hmm... If you would have that many, when it pops...
Report spam or abuse
Sending batteries into nature is a bad idea, you should feel bad.
Report spam or abuse
yeah, but a diode isn't a penny... a penny also is not very streamlined.

This guy knows his stuff man

i laughed when he breathed the healuim in

The US Air Force could say they don't know what it is.
Report spam or abuse
DID YOU THINK THERE WAS A SPIDER ON YOUR SCREEN TOO???

Report spam or abuse
it's called a lithium button cell, not a coin battery
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
I am getting 85 LEDs, I will do this! I have a U.S. military base nearby, I will try to make this happen! Ha!
Report spam or abuse
It actually wont kill anyone at terminal velocity. hate to say it but Mythbusters proved this wrong
Report spam or abuse
well technically you can, you can't ID what it is but you can ID that there is something in the sky flying around
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
you know breathing too much helium will kill you right? its caled suffocation. i dont think replacing scooba tanks with helium will be i your future though.
Report spam or abuse
*ahem* that is false mythbusters disproved that. A penny (which is NOT 200 grams) doesn't have a high enough mass or terminal velocity to have that much damage. Also: there is no way that device would knock someone out or kill them.

I can fell ya man! Dude... I watch a crapton of shows (Anime to Reality TV) I am still surprised how the hell I have a social life. Also... NEVER watch Boku no pico, Elfen lied and School days... STAY AWAY FROM THOSE ANIMES
Report spam or abuse
That wouldn't kill someone, if a falling bullet wouldn't this definitely won't.
Report spam or abuse
sulfur hexaflouride is also fun to play with
Report spam or abuse
Actually, a penny cant do shit but leave a little red mark, the wind would cancel it out, the mythbusters did part of an episode about it, dipshit...
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
mythbusters tested that it would leave a slight bruise
Report spam or abuse
Actually i looked that up. Dropping a penny from the empire state building and such wouldn't even break a finger! Because of the air, since you can't get a penny to fall STRAIGHT down, it will flatten no matter what, which will reduce the speed A LOT. Meaning, it cannot kill someone. Theoretically, it could kill someone. But you forgot to include all the variables. Point of story: YOU CANNOT KILL SOMEONE WITH A FUCKING PENNY BY DROPPING IT!

@metashinryu it IS expensive and its no more dangerous then helium. although it DOES have flouine in it, it does not get decomposed into your system because the intermolecular forces are too strong for your lungs to break it down, because flourine is diatomic.

A coin battery can range between 1.9g - 2.4g (I am on nobody's side, just saying)
Report spam or abuse
That Empire State myth is busted already... the penny cant even do shit.
Report spam or abuse
Those batteries are expensive?

Not true! Man's two favorite things are beer and boobs!

netflix not available in australia yet... :/
Report spam or abuse
Why fake a ufo? why would u do that?
Report spam or abuse
The real problem is if the police mistake them for flares from boats, a few years ago where I live some people lit some of those sky lanterns and it took the police some time to figure it out.
Report spam or abuse
Ho goes to the park at night? Do you wanna get kidnapped

helium does cause your vocals to vibrate faster. it isn't like the helium would just speed up the sound waves like magic. the vocals have to vibrate faster in the first place, by getting less resistance, to produce higher pitch.
Report spam or abuse
Report spam or abuse
ya it would depend on the surface area of the battery, because yes, the upward friction of the air will make it reach a max speed. just like an average human will only get to about 121 mph when skydiving. if said object was a sphere or another low friction shape though, it might do some damage.
Report spam or abuse
True, mythbusters tested that myth... Myth busted.
