Yep, typical guys who's best days are behind them. The image of a drink in one hand and the other hand in his pocket speaks volumes of the mentality this generation has fallen to.

I saw an old Car Craft from the 80s where a guy put in a 426 Hemi and it was street driven.

Are you guys running headers? It sounds like it. I too have a 400 SBC in a 1974 Gremlin. What headers did you find that would fit? They make them for the AMC V-8.

gremlins are sub frame design..if it came with a v8 it doesnt need any modification to strengthen it...they are solid as hell.. and light wieght too! makes the perfect drag car! i have a 73 gremlin myself with a 350 bored .040 over ported and polished double hump heads with 2.02 1.60 valves, triple springs and screw in studs.. ported and polished intake and a 870 cfm 4 barrel dual line holley carb, turbo 400 tranny, ford 9 inch with 4.11s,posi, and traction bars..makes almsot 600 hp. vids soon!

I am currently restoring my 1970 Gremlin and was wondering what is the meanest biggest engine I can cram in there?

Nice car and video , there was one by me with i believe a 401 in it. It has been a while but i remember people talking about the 401 and the HP it was making.

@AMXBOY73 Agree, the swap is so cheap n easy, nothing like a real gremlin with its own engine. Gremlin itself looks really cool. Watch my little burnout with the 258 inline 6 i rebuilded and tuned by myself. Love these cars, are like little tanks with lotsa power.
