Dear sir, thank you for bringing your family to Pella Iowa years ago.  It has been a wonderful memory and influence.  I still cherish the CD. And reminded your grandson that he should not forget his roots when I met him at the Country Music Hall of Fame.  May the Lord bless you more than he already has.

The combination of dark hair, dark eyes, fair skin, and a mesomorphic build is classically French/Gallic.

..I've enjoyed this music for many years now,for me it's about rhythm rather than lyrical content,ie I've never really listened to the words. Can someone tell me,is the language French,or is it kind of a hybrid language, like say pidgin English, where you mix two languages together?

creole French - like a time capsuled version of middle french; there are spanish creoles in the carolinas too

I wish the sound was better. The fiddle i dominates the voice. Nothing u could do about it. And it looks great.

I first saw Hadley at the French Quarter Pub in Mallairdville, BC back in 1990, then at the Festival Du Bois. Go see him live!

I could watch these two all day -- something just clicks when they play together. I believe SJW is his grand-daughter, not his daughter.

Ah, j'ai trouvé ma femme! lol This reminds me of my great-grandpa who played fiddle his whole life and died never having to learn English, because everyone spoke French back then. I love how she speaks French with her grandpa, cause I do too! Il faut qu'on perds jamais la langue! If we lose the language, the music, in my opinion, loses a big part of its magic. If we lose our language, we lose our culture!

Did she had to wear such a short dress ?? A more traditionnal outfit would had been more convenient and got along with her grand'pa outfit..

Gee, what a coincidence. I'd just picked up a CD by this gentleman a week ago. I'd never heard of him before, but when I saw 'Cajun Fiddling' on the cover, I snapped it up. And now this video pops up on my suggested videos list! Mr. Castille looks not unlike Rene Levesque in this.

@gygye Believe it or not, that is the way they dress almost all the time. I have never seen Mr. Hadley without his hat and vest, even when he is not playing. His granddaughter is a beautiful young lady who is always well-dressed.

This is just a simple form of Bluegrass. Bill Monroe set the standard here and Irish immigrants pioneered it.

He was the man behind the French Emerson program I was in during elementary school. We are related just really far. He will be missed. I remember being a little kid and watching him play at my grandparents house. =[
