Cat Stevens doing, Praise for the Morning was taken from the Bible, Psalms(songs) but it is from Egypt and sing in the morning when the Sun rose to start the new day. Nice is it not.

hey guys, stop treading on todays music. "I wish I was born in the 90s, 70s blah blah". there is a lot of good music these days, just have to dig deep to find them. So instead of moaning go find those good bands and go to their gig.

I was born in 1963 however my two older siblings were born in 1955 and 1957. My brother turned 14 when Woodstock occurred. Me? Only 6. I love Neil Young, Crosy, Stills and Nash, Yes, Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult. Also, I was immensely intrigued with Stevie Nicks. One thing about Stevie: she never had to hump a stage floor in a wedding dress or come to an event in an egg!  My son was born in 1990 and I have no idea what kind of music he listens to! lol.

I was born in '63 too. This is damn good music! Where is this performance from? It's in Mono, so it must be from '71-'72. Can't ever get enough of Neil!

On my first trip to the USA in 1971, this song was played many times on the plane, think the pilot liked it though, so every time i hear this beautiful song it brings back great memories, was touching down at Niagara Falls when this song was played, spent a lot of time in Toronto/New York, & those were the times when music was music.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm glad to grow up in the 21st century because I have things like YOUTUBE. I can experience anything I want from anytime, easily avoiding the stuff that isn't really my cup of tea. And you'd be surprised because there are actually tons of amazing artists from our era... You just have to do a lot of research, and keep your mind wide open :) But I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion and not everyone will have the same taste as you... ;)
Report spam or abuse
Yes I agree that today a lot of mainstream music can be very shallow and the radio is terrible, but like I said, you have YouTube to easily hide away from it. And you also have to remember how there were artists like Britney Spears (sadly she still makes music), the Back Street Boys and NSYNC in the 90's who didn't have the deepest messages ever...

in the old days, you just have to have beautiful voice and song, and you can be a top musician. But musicians these days, not only they have beautiful voice and songs, they have to be good looking or some times nude to get attention and popular. So never underestimate modern days musicians, they work way harder than previous generations :p   Music is music, no matter how old you are. Not all of modern music is bad though. I believe those who study musics also agree that current music is degrading in quality.

I'm sick of my peers obsessing over the bullshit that is considered music these days. This piece has so much soul compared to the utterly discusting shit people listen to. I dont understand how an actual human being can find the slightest bit of enjoyment in it. I'm 15 and I'm proud to say I haven't fallen to the mass generalization of the greatness of todays music industry. I wish people would realize they're wrong and help bring back the past of music. Today's standards have fallen people have no morals. Inconsidericy has spread without a doubt. Why don't people care about each other anymore ? Where's the love ? Music is music and it does different things for people, but what have we come to where one can't enjoy it without being reticuled and criticized even stereotyped. We come from a time where you can't where a pink floyd shirt in public without being labeled a stoner. The way people think is unexcuseable. I know this is suppost to represent music but people live there lifes based of the influence of music. So we continuously send bad vibrations in music we'll all change our thought process which is already greatly damaged. People are so cruel to each other. Music can heal, do your self a favor and choose the right influencies in your life.
Report spam or abuse
Your view is absurd. People have different tastes in music. Just because someone hasn't heard this song or doesn't like it and instead likes a different song that you don't like does not mean that they are "wrong". You're 15 and you think you have a ton of reasonable perspective when you've hardly seen the world. Calm down. The past music is still available for people to listen to. There is a ton of music today that I guarantee you haven't heard, so you're generalizing all modern music when I bet you haven't even heard 1% of what today's artists have to offer. Stop being silly. "Today's standards have fallen people have no morals. Inconsidericy has spread without a doubt. Why don't people care about each other anymore ? Where's the love ?" It's like you think society before you were born was really great. It wasn't. Human nature hasn't changed. Ironically, it seems like you're not caring much for others since you basically said that people who listen to modern "trash music" aren't really people to you. Music can do a lot of things because there's a lot of different music. Get off your high horse, out of your delusions, and maybe try suggesting people artists you like and see if they like them, instead of telling people they aren't as moral as you and they have shit taste.

Yada yada yada and the folks back in the 60s said the same exact thing you're saying about this music.
Report spam or abuse
Hey I'm 15 and I love this music, but saying that todays' music is shit is pretty close minded. You need to be open for new stuff too instead of staying in the past. There are tons of good musicians for today, yes the amount of good music has dropped since 1980 but that doesn't mean that every or nearly every song of today is shit.

i dont get why there are so many other young people here cursing that they werent born decades earlier to experience this great music.  i too think that todays music in general doesnt compare to music from the 60's and 70's but who cares if we werent alive when it was made, be thankful we are alive when it has been made.  Music is timeless these songs haven't lost any vigor after 40 years
