LaMichael James scored 3 touchdowns, one on an 84-yard scoring reception, and No. 3 Oregon shook Washington State in the second half for a 43-23 victory Saturday. Coming off a big home win over...

It wasn't a dirty play at all..just an unfortuante outcome...I hope the young man is ok

They missed the helmet to helmet tackle on Barner, but thank the stars next week is our bye....

@camhirtle I think, after watching it a few times, that the WS player was hit by an Oregon blocker into Barner. But that looked nasty. He's lucky he's going to be OK.

@averyr18 it was a dirty play, he prolly didnt mean to do it, but it was dirty. concussions only come from helmet to helmet, or helmet to ground...

@pjohn56 It's just that have begun to find out even young players are showing brain damage, like Chris Henry of the Bengals. The rules are only going to get stricter after these new brain damage reports have come out. Basically, helmet designs for safety have not kept pace with the modern era. We need a new type of helmet that absorbs a lot more of the energy than the ones we have now.

Best moment of my life GO COUGS FUCK THE DUCKS

@pjohn56 PJ, I just don't understand why they can't design a safer helmet?!!

@ConservativeAnthem Ty for the reply. I wonder if the fact that athletes as early as H.S., are eating better and taking better designed supplements as well. These guys seem to get bigger, faster, and more explosive every year. Still, I think player intent should be looked at as well before condemning someone as a step short of a murderer which is what I feel a lot of people are doing when one of their team's players gets hit like that. Thx again for the info.

You can't really blame the guy for the helmet to helmet hit, he got shoved directly into him. I'm just glad the Cougs competed in the game lol

@obesemudkipz yes smart one, i know that. but he didnt get pushed into him, that oregon player pushed him from the side.... has nothing to do with it

i was there at the game and none of us could tell if he was going to be ok or not. I saw LMJ crying and I knew it wasn't good at ALL. esp if the coach comes on the field... but i'm glad that he is ok and it was cool seeing all the players and some WSU players at the end of the game praying for Kenjon.

The brain floats in fluid inside the skull. Let me explain why helmets can't solve the concussion issue using analogy - Imagine a race car driver who is not physically connected to the car by seat belts. He decides to protect himself by padding the exterior of his car. In an accident extreme deceleration causes him to to fly around inside of the car causing severe injury. This is really similar to what is happening to a players brain when the head is rotated like Barner's is in this video.

I don't get all the controversy over helmet to helmet in the first place. Educate me if u like, I'm open to that. The way I see it, it's a relatively new rule...no one ever told Ronnie Lott or Jack Lambert not to lead with their helmet. Also, most of the helmet to helmet stuff I have seen is simply football, no mal intent. They're not hosting tea parties out there. I saw a Steelers LBer once w/ a t-shirt that said They Didn't Hire Me For My Disposition...as it should be.

I dont like the ducks at all but id never wish what happened to that kid on anybody

I was at this game. I'm glad the kid was ok, but it was a treat to have the duck fans shut up for two seconds.

@pjohn56 one thing is that players are alot stronger and faster than they used to be, so the collisions are more severe.
