This is by far their best song. I rocked this out on acid in the 90s. Awesome fun.

Smashing Pumpkins They were the one of great promise of the 90's years...! (in my opinion!)

This is where Corgan tells anyone of interest to shut up and let him do his thing. Totally underrated songwriter/ guitarist.

+Sam Martin Agree on all counts. Have you seen that spit-fire solo he pulls off at the 15:13 mark in  'Gossamer' ( 'If All Goes Wrong' dvd )? Friggin' mind blowing.

Why are people always comparing every 90's band to Nirvana? Just sit back and enjoy the music.

siamese dream is their best album, no debating

+Barackmed Alibama you're probably right about the vocals just sitting further back on Siamese Dream, but to my ears it's always sounded like the vocals were widened a little bit. I feel like Billy's voice on Mellon Collie sounded smaller, even if it was more up front. I know that they used an Eventidd Harmonizer a lot on Billy's vocals for Siamese Dream, so maybe that is why it sounds a bit wider, and is possible a big contributing factor as to why I felt like his vocals sounded more produced on Siamese Dream and a little more naked on Mellon Collie.

+Barackmed Alibama Hey, another engineer! Cool. This album had awesome dynamics on it as well, the others are kind of smashed.

Sometimes you cant really understand what Corgan says but he is not as bad as Kurt Kobain. Either way somehow theyre both still awesome.

So strange... I paused the video at 2:01, and noticed an electronic schematic for a distortion pedal. I've seen this video a thousand times over the past 23 years, and never noticed that before.

The wall of guitar sound in this song just blows my mind. Play loud to get the most benefit from this awesome song. BTW, the lyrics are NOT about the Chicago music scene but about a HONEY, who was righteous & could guide these rockers to ultimate stardom.

The solo is awesome. Simple but gets you in the gut.

It's awesome because it doesn't follow a typical solo pattern of 500 notes in ascending and descending scale runs. It's short and simple, yet still maintain's a flow about it.

Jimmy Chamberlin > Every other drummer from the 90's put together.
Report spam or abuse
+Stuart Colman Jimmy is not better than Danny Carey. They are both great drummers in their own right. Danny's ability to play odd time signatures with absolute perfection is what has made him so recognized. Not to mention... Danny exploring drumming from other cultures and utilizing them to expand Tool's already insane rhythms. Jimmy's ability to use jazz style playing in a heavy rock band is what made him so recognized, and his snare work is above and beyond anyone else I've ever heard in rock music  But... If you guys must truly know who the best drummer is from the 90's until now...and possibly all time, it's Josh Freese. He's not only been a member of The Vandals since 1989, but he's also toured with many many many many prominent bands/artists, and his session drumming has also been recorded on about 500 records. There's not a rhythm style that Josh can't play.

Cherub Rock By The Smashing Pumpkins Freak out And give in Doesn't matter what you believe in Stay cool And be somebody's fool this year 'Cause they know Who is righteous, what is bold So I'm told Who wants honey As long as there's some money Who wants that honey? Hipsters unite Come align for the big fight to rock for you But beware All those angels with their wings glued on 'Cause deep down We are frightened and we're scared If you don't stare Who wants honey As long as there's some money Who wants that honey? Let me out Let me out Let me out Let me out Tell me all of your secrets Cannot help but believe this is true Tell me all of your secrets I know, I know, I know Should have listened when I was told Who wants honey As long as there is some money Who wants that honey? Let me out Let me out Let me out Let me out

+Nicholas Pankau I agree. Vocals placed deeper in the mix presents the voice as another instrument, instead of an upfront focal point. Kind of the difference between singing and humming. With them presented more as an instrument, you're not so concerned with the actual lyrics as you are with how it fills in with the other instruments. That's what I really liked about the early to mid 90's music. it was more about the mood and flow to a particular song than it was about the in your face vocals and cheesy predictable lyrics as were prominent in the 80's.
