Mister Rogers Remixed | Garden of Your Mind | PBS Digital Studios

Mister Rogers remixed by John D. Boswell for PBS Digital Studios. Please support your local PBS station: http://www.pbs.org/donate MP3 version now available! http://to.pbs.org/pbsremixed...

Darn it all....this made me cry. Mr. Rogers was such a fixture in my childhood. Watching him now makes me cringe at the vulgarity that kids see today. I realize that times change and perhaps he represented a glamorized version of times past, but there was great humanity and gentleness in his show that is sadly missing now.

He was one of America's greats. He taught and helped generations of people. He was so devoted to children.

"Sometimes when we disagree, I feel frustrated. But I never forget how lucky I am to have you in my family. Always remember how special you are" ~Audio captured from 1981 of Fred Rogers having an argument with his wife on set. Mr. Rogers projected an air of genuine, unwavering, almost saintly pure-hearted decency. But when you look deeper, at the person behind the image ... that's exactly what you find there, too. He's exactly what he appears to be.

This is such an awesome tribute to a man that single-handedly shaped the adults of today by empowering them with wholesome thoughts and vivid imaginations and a powerful sense of discovery.

Simpler steps are also available: participating in the fund raiser drives for PBS ("Paid for by views like you"); voting on state and federal legislation that upholds these types of shows and puts bans on age-inappropriate shows that regularly appear on "children's" networks; literally, no kidding, writing your congressman for bills like this even works.  State legislation passes roughly 17x more bills than federal, but either is a good place to start.

I'm 18 years of age. To this VERY day, from the time I was about 4 or 5 years old, I still watch Mister Roger's Neighborhood as if I were my younger self. Even more into it now, than I was when I was little. This is truly very inspiring, and very moving. I truly love this. I still tear up EVERY, single time I listen to this song. Both, he and this song, are and always will be a very comforting presence in my life. If only everyone could view the world and other people around them as Mr. Fred Rogers did...... This world would be so much better.

If I ever do have kids for some reason, I want them to watch this show. It goes far beyond the minimum of teaching kids what a triangle is and that they need to share their toys. It seems like it fosters the idea that a curious and inquisitive mind can lead to wonderful things, something that seems very lacking in the modern world.

And what's utterly fabulous ( and i'm being 1000% serious here) is that Fred Rogers apparently was NOT a closet pedaphile. How many stories have we heard about people once thought wonderfully who turned out to be utter sociopaths. ( A certain Cosby springs to mind) He seemed to genuinely LOVE children, not...well in a deviant way. Bless this man

Nice remix! I love it! :D He's a wonderful human being who taught so many how to share, communicate our feelings, be creative, patient, compassionate and use our imaginations! He helped mold many, many minds with honest and wholesome values. They don't make them like that anymore. Looking around now I really wish they did. Historically, I dare say that without his testimony in favor of Home Recording Systems our homes would have been delayed that luxury and feat of technology for many years. Betamax ruled the roost for a little while. I can't help but love it as my Dad was a video technician for nearly 40 years and I still have a few of his Betamax Players and Tapes :D And in case you are wondering, Yes, they work. He had plenty of spare parts.
