Marilyn Manson Disassociative

Luca Franzolini Shared on Google+ · 7 months ago
it's true............... I can tell you what they say in space That our earth is too grey But when the spirit is so digital The body acts this way That world aws killing me That world was killing me Disassociative The nervous systems down, the nervous systems down I know I can never get out of here I don't want to just float in fear A dead astronaut in space Sometimes we walk like we were shot through our heads, my love We write our song in space like we are already dead and gone Your world was killing me Your world was killing me Disassociative Your world was killing me Your world was killing me Disassociative I can never get out of here I don't want to just float in fear A dead astronaut in space The nervous systems down, the nervous systems down I know

3:34, best moment ever in a manson song. The glory days are over

3:34 breaks my fucking heart in such an indescribable way. This song is... no, I actually don't have any words to describe it.

I'm not great enough at analysis to really know what this song's supposed to be about.. but i know that listening to it has given me some ways to describe the depersonalization i get related to my manic depression. and idk, thats really important to me because finally i felt like i could make others understand. knowing Manson this is probably some extremely metaphorical statement about how society is destroying the world or s/t... but the title 'dissassociative' and the lyrics will always be things i will associate with that numb, automatic feeling.. and thats comforting in a strange way. so, thank you Marilyn Manson.

im not very good at analysis either but i have my moments of clarity sometimes...i think youre spot on, in fact im willing to bet money on it

Funny how now the word "disassociative" doesn't exist. They changed it to "dissociative". They change a lot of words... then these kids look at us like we're idiots because "dictionary.com" doesn't recognize them.

That profile pic improved that by 110% haha

+Neda Giancaspro I really like Golden Age of Grotesque, but Eat Me Drink Me was crap as far as I am concerned. Another noteworthy thing is I saw him in Berlin about 2002, and he was full of energy on stage, I way later saw him in France and at Lowlands Paradise, and he seemed not to care that much at those shows. He seemed a bit done tbh. Hope he gets it back.

+Jame Gumb  think he will never again be the same, a bit because of age, but he left his legacy eternal

They blow our brains if we threaten the leader? He was trying to kill me prior. He tried to kill me 2 weeks after I got out of the military. What's sad is that we have the same IQ. *became Sorry, my medicine is doing weird things, but it's helping.

no, I can't any sort of inner reasoning, and I can't remember things in the same way, so I branch off. I have 0 self-awareness, and I'm not conscious. I appear drunk. I can't keep a solid opinion. How I change this when I write is that I outline everything. Writing is the only thing I can do.

MM<3 has helped me thru alot... I remember being sprung out in the middle of the night blasting this song, Thinking to myself whats the good outcome out of my situation? Why am I doing this to myself.... This song in particular made me realize who I am on the inside.... Just another dead astronaut in space..... I Love MM<3 :)

@ThrowingSpoon - Me neither, Having disparaging sounds and lyrics used to be just that... but then later they got names like alternative, then goth and then ultimately the worst most degrading term: emo... The more natural things in music became "patented" by terms like "emo" the more confusion set in along with a reduction in the subjective listening experience. - I tend to favor gothic far more but it would be better if people used less terminologies and just enjoyed it without.

It was called Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. Until they decided to change their name to Marilyn Manson.

I'm going to see him live again in July..but every time I listen to him, I already go crazy as if I'm seeing him live right now :p

and just randomly, 14 years on, I'm utterly hooked to this album again. It has spent a long time in my large cd collection, a sleeping giant. I dusted it off and am enjoying this band at what I think was the peak of their creativity. Think what you will about Marilyn Manson, but this is a brilliant concept album.

Don't think about that anymore. There are plenty of fish in the ocean)

Something tells me your just trying to up your image. I wonder what it could be? Although Manson has done a load of drugs, his songs are made to not only sound good, but to make you *think* about the subject at hand. And for the record, I imagine you to be kind of scrawny. Not a big tough guy toking a blunt.

How come everyone doesn't know this is about Disassociative drugs. DXM, Ketamine anyone?

fuck I can relate to this 100%

I used to get disassociated from my body on various substances... hands down the weirdest feeling a drug has ever given me to feel so out of your body but still inside your head.. Not exactly as 'trippy' as lsd or mushrooms but by far much more of a wtf where is my body , who are you, I must be fucking god or the devil or just a sad jester with a mind laughing at me

Dextromethorphan - My favorite Dissociative to listen to this

Yes, i agree. used to be my fav oo. The Jews (Like Marilyn Manson) know who to exploit the dissaffectedness, identity crisis, frustration insecurities, and weaknesses of us gentiles

I do remember stuff, just in a weird way. It isn't linear. Prior, I worshipped so many things that I because random and gibberish, but now I don't make the right associatons. You should come into my brain. It's either blank or nonsense. When I talk, I make weird noises sometimes trying to say things. They have NO idea what they're doing.

The future is amazing, it's in this time that the hidden starts to surface in all areas lol ambiguities and veils will drop - after that, you will see revolutions - peace and war. So choose your' side and learn lol There's lots to look forward to, good and bad BUT if you're prepared, it will be more sweet than bitter...and those of us who are more aware will have the ability to shape this world and light the path.

Takes me back to when I was 16, a girl who broke my heart at a county fair we had. She liked me, but had a boyfriend the whole time I never knew about. I always noticed she kept distance with us, but did things that seemed special with me secretly. Anyways, when I found out, it made sense. She is still gorgeous til this day, and still apologizes for all that, claiming had she never met him and married him, she would have been with me today. That's what I think when I hear this song.
Report spam or abuse
I totally agree with you but... it's not just him, it's an entire band of people that contributed towards this.

@IndefinitePersona Emo was around before this, and 'Mechanical Animals' is about as emo as Metallica's stuff is jazz.

I have had hardcore disassociative disorder my entire life, and this song beautifully captures what it means to have this disease. I call it a disease because it's a fucking terrible thing to live with. I also have depression but I think this is far worse than just depression. It sucks the enjoyment out of everything.

I have GAD, PTSD and depression with some disassociative.

wooooow, so well said. I couldn't agree more, the line "a dead astronaut in space" was ALWAYS the part that stuck with me when I listen to it. it's such a desolate description of how he was probably feeling at the time
Report spam or abuse
Well I will say, there's more darkness ahead but each one of us who light up the world and make it recognizable to those who possess it as well - It will have a chain reaction. Nature has it's binary and seasons, I feel we're about to realize what we've been under and eventually reject it. I think this time period is where we see the two opposites most clearly, after that, collision and then a new world...

@RelentlessLimpet - Oh okay. -- Btw just wondering, did you ever anticipate music culture would be where it is at now? This electro pop stuff thats popular now can't last forever, something new/different will eventually atke it's place and I'm very curious what this new decade will produce if it is allowed to continue like before. - there's indication to those who can discern it: that things are about to seriously change forever for all of earth.. I wish I could explain.
