Pete Rock & CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.) (Video)

by kennylavish • 4,199,803 views

FROM THE ALBUM "MECCA AND THE SOUL BROTHER" (1992).

All these kids on here saying "I was born in 98" or whatever and "I wish I lived in this era", it's up to y'all to keep this shit here alive, the more you buy that new shit, that fake shit, the more you support that, then the more blessings like this right here die, you gotta grab that brass ring and pass this torch, real hip hop is on serious life support, look around, something's gotta give quick
Cool.all that fake money, materialism, bling, bling hype is twisted and misleading all types of younger people.
Your absolutely right bro! When I get my sampling rights and a producer to remaster a sampled riff from this I'll bring this song bac into recognition !
im 19 , and i hate the fact i didnt get to live through this era of hip hop . I listen to this type of shit everyday of my life on my fuckin iphone . I could only imagine listening to all these old songs when they first dropped on radio , tapes , vinyl , etc .
born in 95 :( back in 06 i use to listen to rappers that i thought was cool till my cusin was listening to nas and i was like whos that .. damn wen he introduced me to nas i began to listen more and more to old school fell in lovewith it and so wen ever i hear a new skool song i feel disgusted and ashamed to be part of this generation for the music we make. why kant we have artist like c.l smooth goes on. . th, nas, big, pac, big daddy kane, kool moe dee, big l, naught by nature, O.C, atribe call quest, rakim, dmx, redman , main source, smif n wessun, gangstarr, run dmc, heavy d, empd, and the list goes on.
Keep listening to old school hip Hop so it stays relevant here are some other great rappers from that golden era Common, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jeru The Damaja, Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, Wu-Tang Clan etc... the list goes on from about 1987-1996 Hip Hop was at the forefront of music all the classic albums came out between those years.
Time be flying. .92.. I was 21.wow 44.now thank you Lord I made it this far.. Gay I'll skier I was scared back in the days I didn't know if I was going to make it or not all my boys was died we GD..gangster disciples that is its over now Amen.
Hey my brother Branndon. You're 18. Whole life is ahead of you. My brother, I don't know what you want to be in life, but all I can say is use common sense and look after yourself. I went in the army at 19 and did 5years, got out at 24. Im 32 now. Military or college may be good for you at this point in your life, maybe not. Only you know. Man just think about your future. I was basically in your situation 13 years ago. Keep ya head up and move forward. We need our young brothers alive and well. Thanks for the respect. Peace.

It's like that y'all
At the end of the day, after all of my years diving deep into hip hop in all its forms, being one of the biggest pieces of my life, this is still to me the greatest hip hop song of all time.
I'm gonna use this youtube as free advertisement. Please Like this comment for it to be seen. People are searching for the next big thing in hip hop every day. While searching I came across a man named Bigal Harrison. No exagerration he is the best hip hop artist i've seen in a long time and he is very young at that. If you get the chance check out his music, i promised I would spread the word about him. SEARCH - Bigal Harrison / also any artists that you think i should listen to leave a comment on this thread.
HEARD THE SOUND OF THIS SONG EVERYWHERE BUT DIDNT KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG! YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM THAT I FINALLY FOUND THIS SONG, GOD IS GOOD, HALLELUJAH

This just proves that the stuff that we listen to now is just s$&-
That was dope from back in the day. Frankly, I don't care how many units these young boys sell for Mr. Charlie. They cannot make music that rivals this.
All those snares…. like no other track this one
Don't y'all miss the days when black rappers existed? In fact I miss black people in general.
Why Lil Scrappy looking like CL Smooth could be his long lost Uncle.  Dope music tho
RIP Trouble T Roy, you are still missed
NBA Street Vol. 2 anyone?
Hip Hop ....The Executives killed this type of Hip Hop in favor of the the stuff you have today....Listen to this a 100 times and you will not feel anger or any malevolence toward your fellow being...Listen to today's stuff you will feel the seven sins ( and I am not a religious person) surrounding you and really not making you feel good in any way There are a few artist who still carry the torch ,but not many at all...BRING THIS BACK

Pete Rock & CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.) Don't know this joint? Then you have 2 options: 1 - listen to it & enjoy. or 2 - unfollow us. We're not for you.
Thanks for all the shares. Much love!
We still have some rappers in the are like Kendrick , cole , wale , drake , big Sean , meek mill ,
This was the TALENT from the early 90's. These guys were not rappers, they were poets. This genre of music started in the late 70's and died to this over commercialized music industry in the early 2000's. TRUE talent. The early rappers sampled some of the most soulful jazz tracks which made their work absolutely awesome.
Thank you @kennylavish for this video post
This song never gets old.
If I could place any song in a dictionary under the word rap...this would be it
I'm from the future, wow the music we got now is different than this music! <3 <3 from 2047
There's always some shit debate floating around on the youtube comments and social media... this time it's about date of births... people have too much time or are totally lost in life.

Please lord bring back the glory days of great music🙏 amen.
thanks for uploading FROM THE ALBUM "MECCA AND THE SOUL BROTHER" (1992)   3/3/91 The footage shows five officers surrounding #King several of them striking him repeatedly. Later #spawning the 1992 Los Angeles riots. During that time frame of tension, and debate. The ECO92 #Monkey yr. aka Earth Summit  first formally proposed in Agenda 21 of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). #Banana? 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 March as "World Day for Water" aka #322 5 on the dice  a Transformer 5, water rooster yr. matt 10 16"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. 17"But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues. yet all covered in Jude 1. yet even more 1 vs 8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. 9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” ... the Word states, The whole world was deceived. EVERYONE!
