Belle Vie, Melbourne's fantastic French-tapas bar, has a delectable Croque Monsieur that I wish I could eat! Behold, I have commandeered their chef to whip together a gluten-free and vegan version! I think we have covered every dairy-free, meat-free, wheat-free avenue; while keeping plenty of flavour. The bechamel was so good, we even dipped chips into it afterwards!
To keep it lazy, we're using store-bought gluten-free bread and the simplest bechamel recipe I could find. Only three ingredients in it, yo!
1 c (200 ml) Rice Milk
1/2 c (100 ml) Sweet Potato Flour (or any gluten-free flour)
50g Butter Substitute
2 pieces Pre-Sliced Dairy-Free Cheese ('Cause we ain't got time to slice)
Gluten-Free Bread, 2 slices per Croque. I used Genius Brand.
