What is Iwokrama?
One of four remaining Rainforests in the world: a protected area of 371,000 hectares located in the Guiana shield and home to a diverse variety of the world's flora and fauna.

What is the Iwokrama International Centre for Rainforest Conservation and Development (IIC)?
The IIC is an international not-for-profit organisation aiming to promote and sustain lasting ecological, economic and social benefits to the people of Guyana through forest conservation

What do we do?
Iwokrama incorporates forest certified selective timber harvesting, eco-tourism, research operations and collaborative forest management with local communities.
