Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is India’s apex body for biomedical and health research. Based in New Delhi, ICMR formulates, coordinates and promotes biomedical research. It operates under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and is one of the oldest medical research organisations in the world.

ICMR’s vision is to translate medical research into actionable healthcare solutions and advance knowledge on key public health challenges like Communicable, Non-communicable diseases; Reproductive, Child Health and Nutrition, Epidemiology.
