I enjoy spending huge amounts of time on my PC, listening to music, dance and getting out in the wilds of nature. But music wins the prize!

Much of my upload efforts here are in tribute to the composing/conducting career of Rene Leibowitz (1913-1972) and to Leonard Pennario (1924-2008), America's greatest pianist. Much of it is very rare. A specialist in music of the Second Viennese School, Rene Leibowitz studied orchestration under Ravel and also studied with Webern and Schoenberg and had a wonderfully unique sound. Many of the works of the Second Viennese School were first heard in France at the International Festival of Chamber Music established by Leibowitz in Paris in 1947. Leibowitz was highly influential in establishing the reputation of the Second Viennese School, both through activity as a teacher in Paris after WWII and through his book 'Schoenberg et son ecole', published in 1947 and translated by Dika Newlin as 'Schoenberg and his School' (1949). This was among the earliest theoretical treatises written on Schoenberg's 12-tone method of composition. Leibowitz's advocacy of the Schoenberg school was taken further by his two most gifted pupils, each taking different paths in promoting the musics of Schoenberg, Webern and the development of serialism, namely Pierre Boulez and Jacques-Louis Monod.

May he rest in peace and never be forgotten. My three most favored Leibowitz works are: (Don't miss them) 1-A Night On Bare Mountain 2-Pictures At An Exhibition 3-Bach-Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor. But, they are all amazing!
