Fan-MV for Epik High's "Slave," set to footage of Big Bang.

I saw Big Bang's four 15-second CFs for 2% and I felt like I wanted to use the footage for something else. Epik High's "Slave" is such a poignant piece, and the time length was right. I thought it might be hard to work with such limited video (only about 10 seconds from each CF was usable), but it was pretty fun and not too hard. I hope you enjoy it!

This song really has a Junpyo/Jandi feel to me, even though the lyrics are more about a one-sided love than anything else. Isn't it true, though, that these two have to deal with the same kind of feelings someone in a one-sided love might? I think so.

A Doctor Who fan-video set to Interpol's "Slow Hands." It's kind of Doctor/everyone, and it's all about Ten~

I felt like putting a video together without days and days of thought and contemplation (yes, some video makers *ahem*me*ahem* do this), so this is what I came up with. I wanted it to be a mix of fun, serious, and crazy. Above all, I hope it can illicit a few smiles.

I compiled two videos together featuring Big Bang's TOP because he wrote the lyrics and co-composed the song. The Doctor's relationship with his companions. Set to "7 Things" by Miley Cyrus. I was assigned this song for a contest ("The Ultimate Fanvid Contest," held by dreamer20k and PirateTilTheEnd), and this is what I came up with.

I was unsure of this song at first, but I feel like it came out pretty much how I wanted it to. It's fast paced and (hopefully) a little funny. I wanted to give love to ALL of the Doctor's companions (for the new series), so I included characters like, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack, Mickey, Jackie, and River. However, the focus is definitely on Rose, Martha, and Donna.

Enjoy! This project took an entire month, so I hope it shows. Also, if you didn't catch it... "7 things I hate about you" translates to "7 things I adore about you" pretty much the entire time lol.

This song is complicated to me. It essentially talks about the (overly) devoted heart of a fan, contrasted with the physical and emotional distance of the idol. I think as fans, it's easy for us to stand back and say, "Look at those crazy fangirls/fanboys! They have no restraint!" But if we were in the same situation, I'm sure we would struggle to hold ourselves back. I also know that the more time and effort people pour into their "idols," the more they love them; however, as the song says, "I can't touch you." It's hard for people to be so full of emotion, yet have the recipient unaware of their existence. So, while this video DOES try to capture some of the insanity--the absolute STALKER-ness--of fan escapades, it's also meant to focus of the irony of fandom. I think this song does exactly that, so I hope this video stays true.

That being said, WOW. It was wild going through all the fan-cams for this video. I found myself very "into" every one; there is something so up-close and personal about an event shown through the eyes of a fan. Unfortunately, this wasn't always a good thing. I felt so mortified sometimes. Sometimes it's easy to tell that the idol is tired and upset, yet the camera will get closer and closer to his/her face anyway. Why? What makes us fans feel that we have the right to "own" our idols? I still don't know. Despite that, there were a lot of fan-cams that made me smile like crazy. Sometimes idols will looks so cute and happy to see their fans. Those are good moments. Well, you must take the bad with the good.

I hope no one is offended that I used their fan-cams in this way. I'm so interested in the relationship between fans and idols in Asian (specifically Korean) culture, so this was a great opportunity for me to study and explore it. THANK YOU! I am a big fangirl myself, so I hope you understand that I relate to these issues.

I fell in love with this drama! I completely recommend it. I'm sorry to say this video is pretty simple. I think it deserves to be more spectacular, but I wanted to make something within the time I had rather than nothing at all. It's in sequential order and it's made up of (just) a few of my favorite scenes.
