if you store water keep it out of light because it will get bacteria. i used to haul it for fema. 8 gallons will get you nowhere. if you really want to plan ahead you need many months supplies. i think water and food is more important than gas unless you plan on relocating. there are machines that make water but they are expensive. maybe make one out of a dehydrator but you have to think of a way to clean it. a drop of chlorine in it maybe.
