**EDIT: if when you scroll over the VNC icon it says "not accepting connection" you have to right click it choose options then choose connections then make sure the accept connections box is checked and it says 5900 after that--You can also try to turn off your fire wall **

Instead of using the number 5900, change it to 5920. I did this and it now accepts connections. The windows firewall should appear and should ask you if you wish to unblock it.

also instead of getting the viewer from installer you can get it from the app store just search "vnc" and get the mocha vnc or tightvnc
