Captain Richie McCaw said the All Blacks were offended at not being allowed to perform their prematch haka in front of Wales before notching a record win at theM illennium Stadium on Saturday 25th November 2006.
The Welsh Rugby Union said it warned New Zealand six weeks ago that the haka — the Maori challenge the All Blacks have been performing for more than a century — could be done between the two national anthems.
The All Blacks tried until the last minute to change the program so they could do the haka, as usual, after the anthems and before the kickoff.
But when the WRU wouldn't relent, the team did it in their changing room. A Red Shoes cameraman was invited in to capture the ritual, whereupon the footage was briefly leaked and broadcast to the stadium! This is the original footage in its uncut glory - shown here for the first time.
