I have been reading comments and i would like to say that whether or not you believe in global warming is irrevelant. Oil and gas supplies are becoming scarse, polution has skyrocketed and we are destroying our water. Fixing these problems, which would also help with global warming, should be a main priority. If you dont believe in global warming, dont you believe that we are poluting our planet and that our natural resources are running dry? So this isnt a question on whether global warming is real but whether we want to admit that the human race has a problem.

A couple of years back I was asked to give a talk on climate change and public policies, since I am an economist, and the debate was raging, I did a risk analysis between BAU (business as usual) and with an environmental policy to curve green house effects. And I came to the same conclusion as you: "We need to minimize the costlier outcome".

Good effort!
