The current YouTube layout is boring and well let face it! Tacky!

Default blue link colours, clunky and chunky buttons and lots of unused space, which just makes the site bigger and more confusing than it needs to be. So I decided to see if I could try and make a layout which would fix some of these problems.

I don't have much experience in Design, let alone Web Design (I like both and have spent a little bit on each) Nor did or do I have much experience using photoshop (more then most, but a lot lot less then others) But I tried all the same. And this is what I came up with. I tried to get rid of excess space (e.g The fat and long and pointless message box, i compacted) I made the number one feature more prominent to get more views and to have at least one video on the World's Biggest Video site on its main pages lol. This kinda also solves the fact that features are hard to see at them moment and get mixed up with subscriptions and recommended for you sections.


I tried to make the top navigation a little sexier. I changed the default "Blue Link" colour to a nicer on the eyes blue, And chucked the Stats and Data on the right hand side.

Oh yeah I got pretty lazy so I ended up just using the subscriptions again as features. And changed the colours a little bit just to make it look different! LOL.

And i didn't get around to adding in the "Recommended For You" and "Promoted Videos" sections but they would just look exactly the same as the "Subscriptions" panel but below each other below the features.

This would make the page longer, giving the "What's New" section perhaps a lot more space for an at home blog! Minimizing the need to change pages to see the blog. There would also be more detail in the "Stats and Data" section but I only had crappy stats on my YouTube Home page so I decided to leave it out for now!

It took me about five hours to make! And I got all pictures from Youtube.com (other then what i did from scratch, which was a large amount!)
