This is like my other video, but the other fan wouldn't spin too much, and it also didn't produce sound, it only flashed the beat of the music via the LEDs. Unfortunately, the lights burned out, so I connected my other fan to my amp and have it running as a speaker. Plus, it keeps me cool!
The song is Kelsey by Metro Station
you'll need:
a computer case fan
amplifier (also known as a receiver)
speaker wire
3.5mm audio cable and a converter to convert it to RCA.
If you don't already have a receiver, it's not really worth buying one just to do this. but anyways, you connect the stripped ends of the fan to the positive and negative speaker wire. then you connect the speaker wire to your receiver output (the fan will be the output. doesn't really matter if it's left, right, front, rear, etc.). This is the tricky part. You need to connect the RCA input to the 3.5mm output on your device (PC, iPod, etc.) The input for the receiver needs to be an RCA cable, but the output on your PC/iPod is a 3.5mm speaker cable, so you need to find a converter. These very cables come along with MANY digital cameras, so you may have one already. If not, just search for 3.5mm to RCA converter on ebay. the ones on ebay require you to also buy an RCA cable. the 3.5mm part connects to the PC/ipod (the green port on a PC), then the RCA cable connects to the converter and the input for the receiver. Play some music. You may need to adjust the settings on your receiver to get the best sound. BUT DON'T TURN IT UP TOO LOUD. if you do, then the fan could start to smoke and break.
