you guys a fantastic! thank you so much!

I live in the mecca of swing Los Angeles. Unfortunately, many teachers feel it is their job to show you how much you don't know. Thanks for your easy and practical breakdowns!

Start by taking a rock step to your left and lead her to the side using your hand.

It's a regular starting position, just release your partner's right hand (I guess your'e the man). Some other steps, such as the basic charleston can also be done with partner's right hand released.

How does one get into this move? No one has ever been able to explain how to start this move!

Thanks you two for all the Lindy moves you've been explaining. We're in the UK, and teachers that have style and structure are few and far between, so we really appreciate your breakdowns of various lindy moves..... keep on dancin'... Linda & Roger G.

(You might know these kicks as `corridors' )
You can get into them from open position (8-beat lindy hop), simply by leading your rockstep to the side and then kicking across yourself.
Alternatively, from side-by-side charleston, you can get into it by pushing on 3
