  • I'm training, krav and some bjj, had training in kickboxing and I've been training for about ten years, and yeah, one of my friends can defnately kick my ass and has kicked other's asses in the street using that "shit". Chinese martial art's rep has been ruined by shitty instructors in the west, but in China there are guys that can shatter bricks with the back or their wrist. I've learned some respect for a culture that has been fighting without firearms for the last 4,000 years.

  • Xing Yi Quan is one of the best style.

And if you think that you can kick his ass i want see that. Many kung fu teachers come to wudang and realize that they suck. It's doesn't mathers how big muscles you have, they will hit stronger then you and faster.

  • Nice clip. Xing Yi movements remind me of my Pa Kua lineage. Great stuff.

  • too short !

  • @INDUSTRIAL3X yeah man, exactly. you just never know. i am from the usa, am of mixed blooded caucasion (white) and native american (cree) ancestry, and was raised in a christian scientist household (the people famous for not taking pharmaceutical medicine- actually they think life is spiritual not material so they abstain) and i train chinese kungfu, both neijia (tai ji, xing yi, qigong) and external (hua quan, etc) people raise their eyebrows at me, have no idea why i practice, lol. oh well.

  • Whats the background music? I know this from a chinese drama '94, but dunno the title..

  • @bawei I talk about Wudang Xing Yi, not about other old Wudang styles, of course :-)

  • There was NO Wudang style before 19.century. This style as imported to Wudang Zi Xiao temple by Sun Lu Tang in 1926. It is obviously a variant of Sun style demonstrated by this taoist master. :-)

  • @kabuky1 Are there videos of this? I would very much like to see.

  • @WingChunGeologist It's not that they aren't qualified it's that the focus has changed. People are now drawn to the flash and style of contemporary wushu. Which isn't a bad thing by itself, the techniques are still there it's just that people don't understand the application behind the movements they're doing and not many wushu schools even teach the combat applications anymore.

More internal styles like Xing Yi and Bagua, and Tongbei are focused almost entirely on application.

  • @kapoof2 Even in China it's become very commercial. In general the interest in these things has died off. A close friend of mine is studying Chinese medicine at an accredited school and has said a good many of his teachers believe that these arts are dying out in the east but that they'll be saved in the west.

  • @SimKoning i believe one of the most common misconceptions about the world today is that "the west ruined it" when in fact, the world as a whole has ruined a great many things, sure the west took part, but it is not solely to blame, even in china, u go to china and theres a "shaolin temple" on every street corner, and they sure arent real, the world is to blame, not the west
