Back in the day I liked this video, I saw it as a stream of consciousness sort of thing, who knows what imagery was playing inside that guy's head as he was composing this piece, I think that was what the video was showing, but I may have been reading too much into it at the time.

Hmm, you could be right. I do know that Hammer used a Memory Moog and the white elephant Four Voice Oberheim, but I could have sworn the liner notes on the album specifically credited Hammer with just Fairlight and drum machine on this track. I could be wrong, though.

Was looking for this song. I remember my dad recorded this video. I remembered 'Sequencer' but didn't know the artist. Thanks to wikipedia and youtube.

About the video: yeah, it's kinda embarassing. I think it's pretty obvious this was more Columbia's idea than his. The funny thing was, at the time, there weren't too many outlets to play jazz videos. I remember seeing this video on HBO's old Video Jukebox show at the time, and it got some airplay on Night Flight (when they'd do a "Take Off To Jazz" or whatever) and later on it VH-1 played it on their New Visions show. MTV certainly was playing DiMeola or Metheny.
