I swam in Lake Ronkonkoma a million times growing up and I am still alive. My Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all still live out on Motor Parkway and none of us over the past 90 year Long Island residency history has ever heard of this curse. This is all made up TV BS.

What I don't get is that if the boy had his attack at 4:30ish and they searched for him for about 45 minutes, let's even say an hour for the search and all, why would they be shooting fireworks during the daytime if the sun doesn't set til around 8:30ish pm in the summer/July? Fireworks usually go off around 9 pm onwards. So the times don't add up.

yeah i heard about this story from a freind of mine a long time ago..she asked me if I ever heard about the legend of lake ronkonkoma and then she told me the story about how every year a different guy seems to drown in that lake cause of a curse that was put on it by an indian girl.I DO believe in this! !
