It must be a SUPER COOL time to be in film school; what with all the "pro tools" hitting market daily, many cheap or even free. I wonder how hard it is to learn/use the 3d/animation software.

Well thanks! I'm actually not in film school, I've been working in the film, video, visual effects and game industry for about 8 years now. The 3D animation software is a long term investment in your mind. It takes years and years to learn. I started using it in 1999 and I'm still learning things all the time. Unlike photoshop that takes years to master, 3D work takes... a lot longer! But its worth it.

I'm sure it's really rewarding to see one of your 'creations' up on a big screen after all that work and learning to manipulate the software. I'm sure it makes you appreciate the time it took for the software developer, as well. Thanks for posting. Most people don't bother to watch the credits at the end of effects-filled movies like Star Wars and appreciate the incredible number of people it takes to make one.
