@130Team yes but also don't forget the weight of the guns and the finite supply of ammunition and also if you come across a single zombie and shoot it in the head you will attract a lot of other zombies with the gunshot.

actually the basic idea of the virus spreading is the same as rabies or another blood disease. if you cut the arm (or place of bite) of soon enough it very well could stop it. Hypotheticaly speaking of course.
