Right Whale sighting at mouth of Cape Fear River April 25, 2009

The location of the sighting was from approx 20 ft elevation on Bald Head Island near the mouth of the Cape Fear River. I first noticed the dark object approx 1/4 mile upriver in front of a small motorboat. I did a doubletake and realized it was a marine animal. I then realized it was a whale and retrieved my small video camera. By the time I had my camera, the boat had followed the whale near the mouth of the river. You may have to view this in full screen mode. The best section is 9-11 seconds in. There you will see what appears to be a fishing line being cast and near the right front of the boat a dark object. The camera was set at 4 power magnification and the objects are approx 300-350 yards away.
That day I believed what I had seen was a Right Whale. The next day I went on the internet and discovered the following:

On March 12, 2001, A dredge vessel reported sighting a right whale mother and calf pair in the vicinity of Frying Pan Shoals, east of the mouth of the Cape Fear River.

On March 13, 2001, A dredge vessel reported sighting two right whales southeast of the mouth of the Cape Fear River.

Indians of the area and Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazano who camped at the mouth of the Cape Fear River in 1524 sighted what they believed was a sea serpent.

In 1947, a ship owned by W. R. Grace Company collided with an object off the NC coast that was described as a sea monster.

is it just me but i dont see a whale
