A bait ball has attracted many fish. In this clip, we see shearwaters diving from the air to deep below the ocean's surface in order to feed

  • I think those birds are amazing

  • I wouldnt call that pure evolution, its survival of the fittest

  • @coozno1977 strictly speaking Memetic Evolution rather than Genetic, but your point stands

  • The cameraman got BALLS..

  • Nice birdies... the wonders of evolution - bird evolution from the waters, to land, to the air, and back to the waters again.

  • That is so cool.

  • wow 0:47 looks like something out of star wars

  • These Shearwaters are very different. West coast: Sooty, Blue Footed Shearwaters, short wings, dynamic flyers, soarers. Not long wings, long beaks, a cousin of the Cormorant? West coast Shearwaters use the the wind when they fly. They use the valleys and peaks of the waves to dip into troughs and then over the peaks of the swells and wind. They are actually sailing, little flapping of the wings is needed. Allows them to travel for long distances on the ocean. The real sailors of the sea.
