I purchased the GHD gold series classic styler a few months ago and I absolutely love it! It's fantastic and straightens my hair much faster than my previous straightener and I feel that it also adds shine to my hair. It only takes me 10 mins to straighten my hair now and I have thick black hair. Also my sister purchased the original wide plate GHD 5 years ago and it still works fantastically.

@NicoleSpeaks I think the Sedu is closest in comparison to the KQC. The KQC is heavier but it flattens my hair down better!

@ihearrtmakeeuup7 No, my hair stays straight! You can try using a styling lotion prior to straightening. Big Sexy hair makes a few flat iron/straightening products that work really well :)

My GHD does not have ceramic plating. It has Aluminum plating with Kyocera technology and ceramic HEATING. Most GHD's do. Yours looks similar to my own, save for the color. It should be the same, because only the Original with tan plates are ceramic.
