What kind of modular madman makes use of not one, but TWO Sample & Hold modules at the same time?!? Prepare to have your ears seared right off by the twinkly-dinkly beauty of randomly generated tones and whatnot.

This episode has a very special guest whom I hope will be making many more appearances as these audio experiments continue (and I hope you find her as adorable as I do).

Thanks as always to the faithful, patient and downright curious who choose to give these videos a perusal.

  • Thanks again, folks! Glad to see someone is still watching.

No modular system is ever complete, of course, and I've got a few new, fresh things to test out for the next instalment (including a Flame Clockwork). Should be fun.

The SSM filter is indeed an incredible sonic shaper; I'd like to get one more MOTM filter to add to the set-up at some point (the 410 Triple Res, to be exact). The Dotcom Q150 filter is also excellent to work with.

    Until next time...!

  • Nice video. the cat adds his input.

  • hahahaha I see a cat. cats love synthesists.

  • cool but i frown on your use of digital units!

  • cat in video is golden!

  • Thank You Mr. McCrae

Good Quality over all, high pedagogic level, stabel camera shots :D as opposed to a whole lot of other synth stuff here out on You Tube. I am gonna continue watching this. I have some ideas about teaching people what´s going on inside the synths making something similar. I am a technician working only on analog gear. By the way: I know for a fact my two cats did indeed prefer to sleep in a analog synth drone ^~ bliep ~~< bloop<~'invironment. It´s pure cat music

  • Great video. It convinced me that I have to get a sample& hold module some day to and to my modules. Also love the looks of the ModCan.

  • Damned fascination this is. It's a shame the cat didn't turn any of the knobs... to make this just like all the other videos on youtube. Nice restraint.

  • What can I say, absolutely fantastic, this is by far the best quality modular synth exploration that I have come across on YouTube. I have a Doepfer system myself and as yet have not explored the possibilities of the "sample and hold" module I will be doing so from now on. Keep up the good work.

  • Love the Cat !!! Cool experiments of sounds and what modules can do... more !!! Good stuff...
