Pretty good quality video,but still from my old VHS-tapes. A DVD-release wouldn't hurt. ;)
This is from André's third album "AC" released in 1985. The song was written by Prince. I personally were into his first and second album more. Especially "Living In The New Wave" from 1982 blew me away.

  • Thanks for posting such a good copy! I had the pleasure of working on this video. The continuity still photograph makes everyone laugh... Now, I can send them to see the video to explain our crazy costumes!

  • @FizzyPopKid Ha, ha!! I think some of the beauty in these old videos are the mistakes or what we today see as a bit silly. Back in the day, I doubt I thought anything was ridiculous here. :) Have you got the continuity photos available so people ca n ee them? Did you film it?

  • This song would have been 10times better had Prince performed and released it. But whatever, Andre did it well. I hated when he left playing with Prince though!!

  • @daphnerh1984 I disagree, André made the song. But, I think Prince recorded it too. Maybe he didn't release it officially, but I have a vague memory of hearing his version, perhaps on a bootleg. The folks over at prince.org would know more. :)

  • Whatever,,,anyone says,,,,,,,he still played with Prince. However, bands due disagree on things,,,and members find their own talents to continue in the business. Yes,,Andre put it down on this song.....

  • Another bad song! I have two much older brothers and neither one of them were impressed with this song.I thought they were crazy! But they did like when doves cry I guess different strokes for different folkes! That bass line is kicking!I still say they crazy!

  • Damn I forgot how Handsome that brotha be

AC just got an overdue remaster on CD

  • @preo2 yeah i know my Prince and most of the people who were in his circle at one time on the radio all you were hearing was the Minneapolis sound , Prince change music

  • @shaywatts You are correct. I have an old audio interview of Prince saying that he wrote this for Andre and gave it to him as sort of a peace offering because they had not spoken for a while after getting into it.

  • Prince finger prints are all over this one. This was a pretty big hit for Andre before he gave it up to produce.

  • @shaywatts This song, shhh, nothing compares 2 u, screams of passion, 100 mph, a glamourous life, manic monday, the list goes on and on....

  • Prince wrote this song for Andre Cymone, they did not speak for awhile and he wrote it for him ( that song has Prince written all over it / Princ may have recorded it before or after but he Wrote Shhh ( tevin Campbell ) no one knew and Nothing Compares to U.

  • @dogkelp -- Very true.
