  • Aikido teaches knife throwing? I always wanted to take a knife class, but no school teaches them in NYC. T,T

  • It is not part of Aikido, but our school also teaches shuriken jutsu. Sorry, we have no dojo in NYC but If you are interested in shuriken jutsu than have a look at the youtube site of HouzanSuzuki.

  • how many europeans are there who were appointed as teachers by Nakamura?

  • Actually most of the sensei that are now in Takeda ryu Kobilza Ha had already menkyo from Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha.

  • I very much enjoyed your video presentation. Does Takeda Ryu have any connection to Sokaku Takeda and the Daito Ryu?

  • Thank you very much! A part of the Takeda family, after being defeated in the 16th century moved to Aizu and changed the name to Daito. So Daito Ryu is something like a sideline of Takeda Ryu. Takeda is a very common name in Japan, Sokaku Takeda has got nothing to do with Takeda Ryu as far as I know.

  • lame...

  • This is very close to the art of a samurai. It includes aikijutsu, kenjutsu, and iado. However, japanese perform these techniques with greater precision than the individuals in this video.

  • @Delmo67 daito ryu is not an off shoot of Takeda Ryu there is no documented evidence to back up your false claim.

  • Great Video, I've liked it a lot...

  • at least they don't refer to the takeda family or daito ryu... it's not! the kote gaeshi makes no sense, taking the balance and give it back? never happens, one have to break the balance in the moment of contact, and never give it back.

  • The Takeda Ryu apparently has a offshoot known as the Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha, which would denote that a practitioner went his own way with it. Is this video one of the actual system or is it the gendai budo? I'm just curious, as I am currently researching into various ryu-ha and their histories.

  • Cool video - the music blows though.

  • @Uliserious

Oh cool, then I've met him when he visited my club her in sweden this Autumn :D

  • @icebane91 yes, it's Günther ;)

  • search "comkaijudo" for more REAL aikido techniques.
