Thats debatable, they did steal a lot of there ideas, some bloke from the time who's name I can't remeber once said "Greece captured. captured Rome" basically it meant that even though Rome had conquered greece, the greek culture had taken over Rome. But the romans still invented the boring practical stuff like aquaducts. The romans did happen to get very defensive of this, hence why everybody hates Nero, he wasn't really that bad, he just tried to completely greekify roman culture
