I think this song is powerful in conveying that feeling of not knowing you who are, who you really love, and where you belong (whether it be country, social group, etc.).

Totally Buddhist song. Nothing to hang on to forever in life, everything eventually changes. And the only real way out of suffering is, paradoxically, to embrace suffering, along with everything else that you experience in the eternal now. And death, the final equalizer. "And you really didn't think it would happen, but it REALLY is the end of the line." And musically brilliant, of course. :)
