This video, created by Josh, Brittney Jobak, Alysha, and Sarah, shows two short tutorial sessions that deal with plagiarism. The video was created as part of a class project for WRT 320: Peer Tutoring in Composition at Oakland University. The goal of the video is to present a situation that facilitates discussion for tutor training purposes.

  • I get the feeling they went a little overboard on the belligerent, self-destructive tutee model. Maybe that was part of the assignment, though.

  • The two cases in the OU Writing Center video on plagiarism demonstrate failures, though the fault is seemingly that of the students more than the tutors. Nevertheless, the cases do not demonstrate anything positive. Is tutoring a student who has plagiarized always an experience of total frustration?
