This film Head Games tells the story of football player and wrestler Chris Nowinski's quest to uncover the truth about the consequences of sports related head injuries. It includes relevant science on brain trauma, advice on how to better deal with concussions at all levels of sports, and some of the tragic stories from sports such as football, hockey and soccer that have now been determined to be due to concussions.

This type of attitude is a big part of the problem. Head injuries aren't given the proper respect. As a whole we just need to be more open the the idea that injuries should be treated, and become more able to recognize those injuries.

People have to realize that head trauma is a serious matter that can't be taken lightly. We have to make correct decisions that will stop the problem immediately before it could get worse.

you make a very simple point of "having a choice"..I agreed..but indicated that you have to live with that choice...just like the person who appears to have a choice to yell "fire" in a crowded theatre....its a choice but it has consequences

And I'll probably get the old "how can kids take responsibility for their actions?". So I'll respond now and it saves me coming back:

A) Their parents have a choice

B) And more importantly, I was talking about professional sports; referring to what's happening over there regarding players taking legal action, and what's happening here in Australia with the shoulder charge being completely removed from our game.

I can guarantee you the guy playing sport and exposing himself to devastating head trauma is going to live a healthier and longer life than the guy being "safe" in his room, on average.

The excitement is just an advantage.

Either way it all comes down to choice. Can no one take responsibility for the own actions anymore?
