This is a bicycle running on pure air pressure.
I built it as a test vehicle to collect data for making a ZERO emission, air powered car.
The ultimate fuel efficient alternative energy vehicle could run on air!
This is just the first test....
Initial results were surprising...
Range 4.5 miles on a tank.
Top speed: 18 MPH.
Not bad for a $9 bicycle from the Salvation Army, two $10 sprinkler valves, and my old scuba gear!
I'm fixing what slowed me down and wasted air, and will post a new test in a few weeks!
Thanks.

  • Had a chance to check out the Green Speed race bike yet?

  • @ufoengines I did a search on that term, but wasn't sure which bike you meant? Thanks.

  • I think that if I win the lottery for the third time I'm going to offer a $50000,00 prize for the first four passenger air car to cross the U.S.A, from NY to LA, in less 72 hours on it own power.

    Take that Big Oil!

  • @ufoengines Thanks! I could 100% do that right now. I built a greatly improved transmition (designed for a small car) and have built most of the parts for a "multistage" use of the air. I also have an "instant recharge" system. I just don't have the 20K at the moment that I need for some of the higher dollar parts to make it a reality. An air car SHOULD outrun any car on the road since you can dump all you tanks to power for the fastest 1/4 mile around. I'd build the car for any investor.

  • Im close to finishing my air bike:-) im usin a northern industrial air drill to power it and a 1.75 to 1 ratio plus a five gallon air tank.

  • Awesome! I thought about using air tools, but they use such a high volume of air!

The air bike shown went over 4 miles on a tank, and the highest speed I hit was around 28 mph.

It would be SO easy to improve! And I built a two cylinder multi expansion engine, but I just haven't had time to complete and try it... Good luck, and please let me know how it goes.

  • @rimwydas44 They are 3500psi dive tanks putting a 200psi propane canister on it would be dumb

  • @MrCristoKelm Nope to small a volume and the extension cord to the run the electric motor would limit your range

  • Err..

Design the frame of the bike to be the air pressure container and add an electric generator/air pump to the mix... if this is a good idea thumbs up this idea.

  • Need more pressure , that thing cant barely support its own weight unless you put like 5 more of those propanes

  • How do you get compressed air? With an air compressor that runs HOT. Heat is the bullshit detector of efficiency claims. Overall efficiency of this setup oughtta be about 6 or 8% when you do a well-to-wheels calculation.

  • why don't you get a car?
