GARNER (WTVD) -- A Garner woman is under arrest after calling police to tell them she shot her husband.

Garner Police say they received a 911 call at 1:09am Saturday from a woman who reported that she had shot her husband at 1411 Garner's Station Boulevard, behind a Staples store.

The victim, Abundio G. Gonzalez, who turned 48 on Friday, was dead at the scene, the result of an apparent single gunshot wound to the chest from a handgun, police said.

His wife, Ruby Ashworth Gonzalez, who will turn 60 on Tuesday, was arrested at the scene, and charged with first degree murder.

She is currently being held in the Wake County Jail. Police do not anticipate any charges against any other person in the case.

They say the shooting stemmed from an argument related to another woman.
