Just a very quick and rough recording of my new Mesa Dual Rectifier.

The camera made it sound a bit more scooped than it really. Should get a microphone or something to record it.

Don't mind the playing though, this is a sound demo, NOT a "I am the best player in the whole world demo".

Used channel 3 in modern mode, tube rectification and the power switch set to spongy. Using a Vader 2x12 8ohm cab. Also note that this was recorded at "reasonable" volumes.

Guitar used is an Ibanez Destroyer DT-420 2002 re-issue, black hardware, stock pickups.

  • how much excess noise does this give out on the distortion sound, coz im considering buying it, but that is like my pet hate haha

  • This head is pretty quiet (noise wise) seriously, I can have it seriously cranked and it stays silent when i'm not playing -- Use a noise gate though

  • How loud do you feel like you have to crank it to sound good? Does it feel poor at lower volumes?

    Thanks!

  • It sounds good at lower volumes but sounds massive in its sweet spot (which is loud... very loud hehe)

  • i usually cant be arsed to comment..but..the playing sucks ass

  • It's all good man, thanks for watching

  • Um yeah

  • hey

  • @MachineGunMessiah Oh yeah. This amp is a machine. It can pretty much do anything. in the back, there are two tube options. Pick the heaviest sounding one for distortion. The cab that goes with it is very nice too, but you can pretty much use anything that would have good tone with anything else. and nice guitar.

  • I have a question...

Can a Dual Rectifier get me a great Melodic Death Metal tone (WITHOUT a boost/overdrive pedal)

(ie At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity, old In Flames, old Soilwork)

If so what cab goes great with that type of tone?

What tubes should I use ect.

Gear I use...Ibanez RG1527M 7-string w/stock pickups (though I wanna change them out for Seymour Duncans)

  • @BlueBarrier782 You may also want to get an attenuator

  • wow your a closeminded fuck

  • oops i didn't listen the whole video ! ^^

    nice! :)

  • post a video with metallica riffs please! :O

    nice amp :)
