I really hate the sensation of a spoonful of molten coconut oil in my mouth. It makes me gag :( I know how good it is but the whole experience is off-putting for me.

Thanks for that.I've just turned 30 and I'm trying to become more healthy. Taking your advice.I've just ordered a jar of the pure stuff from the net.I will try it with scrambled eggs with a little maple syrup for breakfast!

I put a spoonful of coconut oil in my coffee twice a day.

@30plusmensfitness I use it in smoothies all the time. Its usually slightly melted so it blends well.

People put it in milkshakes and stuff all the time. It melts in your hands so just heat the jar up in warm water and and put it in your protein shake!

can i put the coconut oil in a protein shake??? if so how much? a teaspoon or table spoon?
The coconut oil is quite solid and is very waxy, so you couldn't really add it to a protein shake. The best thing to do is just have a spoonful of it 'as is'. If you don't like the taste you could always follow it with a protein shake chaser ;)
