I always made my guess at the lyrics but when i finally read them wow did the song change the way i listened to it

I wasn't alive yet when this song came out LOL but its a song I love. It instantly takes me back to the moment I heard it for the first time. It captures a feeling I, among others, can relate to.
Maybe someone can help me figure out one part of the lyrics: "he tells me tears are something to hide, and something to ?fake???

Yes at about 2:50 as we turn from the apartment to Carnegie Hall, the drama is climaxing and you can tell something big is going to happen.

Not only a great video but a great song. I dont care if it didnt outsell lots of other songs, this song is an effing GREAT SONG and I could listen to it 100 years and still want to hear it more.
