I know a lot of people dislike the move, but I thought it'd be interesting for those who like it to see when it was debuted.

Here, Petey Williams used the Canadian Destroyer for the first time, on Matt Sydal.

  • ThunderFilez, you know Suicidaldragon hates this move?

I actually think that using the Flip Piledriver was damaging for Petey's career. He's a skilled wrestler (actually, I can't think of a single guy from Canada who wasn't) but now he's only known for the move itself.

I hope he's doing okay with the rock band he formed with Sabin and Shelley.

Yeah, I know. People are titled to their own opinion, lol. Hating a move for it being unrealistic, is kind of dumb in my opinion. If that were the case, over half of wrestling moves should be hated.

  • @ThunderFilez Truth is, I and another wrestling fan I know and maintain a correspondence with both agree that perhaps the reason this move is heavily disliked is because it is WAY too unrealistic. Pro wrestling is about suspension of disbelief, and using the Destroyer would remove that.

I really like watching Williams in TNA, (before Russo, Hogan and Bitch-off entered and all but destroyed the company) but I couldn't stand how he was ONLY hyped for his finisher. He deserves better than that.

  • @bluebomberx does a sunser flip look like the other person is doing all of the work. Because, for the most part, it has the same start-off point. It's just a stylized version hybrid of that motion into a piledriver. To say that something looks "painfully obvious" is such a ridiculous oxy-moron that I'm cutting my response prematurely!

  • @ThunderFilez Perfect response! I like how ppl nitpick over insignificant crap, especially in Pro-Wrestling which especially makes no sense whatsoever!

  • @ThunderFilez

I was just about to bring this point up, but then I saw you already have. The way way I see it, most people know wrestling is fake so why not get a bit creative with it, if you want realism watch MMA or something. Looking for realism in wrestling is like looking through the Youtube comments section for intelligent conversation..

  • @bluebomberx

Honestly, I hate when this point is brought up. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE wrestling fan, I mean come on, look what I do in my spare time. Almost EVERYTHING in wrestling is looks completely contrived. Just for example, something as simple as a Powerbomb. If people pay attention, you can see the victim, push off the mat with his feet, and post off their opponents legs with their hands. Wrestling is entertainment, and in most instances, wrestlers don't try to deny that.

  • @kakuichi

The issue is that the move makes it painfully obvious that the victim is doing most of the work for the move and not the attacker, at least for the standing version anyway. It looks great when it's a counter to a back body drop.

  • @ThunderFilez I like his Tilt-a-Whirl Russian Leg Sweep.

  • @AussieImitator

    Pretty much.
