Hi folks, this is my biggest video series to date. Like Steam or the very early Diesel era, then you'll like this.

http://www.gainsmodelrailway.ik.com/

Now think big....I mean really big!! What you'll see over this series of videos is Kings Cross to Leeds central with all the stations in between in "O" Gauge!! This railway is run just the same as the real railway. It takes around 10 people all acting as driver signalman etc to run this. It's all done using the bell codes too.

Many thanks to the Gainsborough team for a great day. Also thank you to mr A Plumtree for explaining how it all works. More videos to follow....

  • omg, i cant imagine how much all of that cost, for a N gauge CSX engine, it cost me 30 bucks and the switches cost ten. all of my track (N gague) , about 100 feet, must have cost me about 150 and the cars, about twenty assorted ones, 200 bucks. wow.

  • @The177Hunter A lot of this you see here is priceless, can't really put a value to them as they were hand scratch built. Many a long time before comercial kits became available. The pullmann coaches made from card etc. A credit to the club & all those who made the rolling stock etc. Well worth a visit if you get chance.

    Cheers.

  • amazing station!

  • @AUTubeN22 It's about 1/3 the actual length of the real one.

  • @586Northamptonshire That's that bit right down in the middle of that room. I'll have to get back for one of the next open day's. Love to do an on board camera ride video around the layout, wonder if the club would allow me to do that??

  • @ay76 I returned to the railway about 6 weeks ago after a 4 year gap. So far i've found myself volunteering for Hitchin SB. Leeds room, lowest point on the baseboard.

  • @586Northamptonshire Which station or section do you operate on the layout?? Or do they rotate, so get chance to try each section??

  • @ay76 I started in 1991 until 2004, i've just returned last monday.

  • @586Northamptonshire Cool. Must take a while to learn the ropes as a operator, on this railway.

  • I used to work this railway before i moved to Grimbsy. Used to pop back for exhibitions, sleeping in the tea room lol.

I will return eventually, must fix the car first. I was passed out on all the boxes there.
